None of the current Wii U games were developed on final hardware. Anyone remember what the launch 360 games looked like? I do.

People always forget this.

They compare pe-launch Wii U games to games made 6/7 years into the PS3 and 360's lifespans, which isn't a fair comparison at all.

If anything comparing a new console to something that is 6-7 years old and will soon be last gen is what doesn't seem fair.  Imagine if someone compared PS3 launch titles to the first Xbox, people woud cry foul.

Nintendo get a magic free pass for some reason?

To a certain extent Nintendo gets a free pass because they're able to produce beautiful games regardless of the technical capabilities of the system. Had games like Super Mario Galaxy been rendered at 1080p I don't think I would ever really care about more powerful hardware:

^ I'd argue that games like Mario Galaxy still look gorgeous at 480p.

Since he isn't an anonymous developer denigrating the Wii U, this thread will be ignored. Now if you posted an out of context quote that seemingly insulted the Wii U. See the misquoted Capcom thread, this thread would be at page 50 by now.

Well. Yeah. Only anonymous sources are trustworthy.

When they give names, it sounds fishy.

With those SMG screenshots, I can only imagine what Nintendo's EAD Tokyo studio can pull off now they can work with a very powerful (HD) system.

Isn't 1080p @ 60 fps expected for Rayman Legends... after all Rayman Origin's was 1080p @ 60 fps on PS3...

Also i wish he would put some context into the RAM comments, "no limitations in memory" does that mean there is no bottleneck? Or are his comments based off the number of textures that can be reasonably in the level at once?

Michael Ancel needs to stop wasting time talking about the Wii U and get busy finding out if it can in fact handle his vision of Beyond Good and Evil 2.

No... he needs to make sure Rayman Legends ships as the greatest 2D platformer to date... and the best example of asychronous gameplay support that isn't a damn mini-game like everything shown by Nintendo so far.

Also, there is going to be full NFC support which they are not allowed to talk about (waiting for September 13th) but the first Rayman Legends Wii U trailer that leaked had already spotlighted some of that.

Fair enough, but I would imagine development for Rayman would have to be close to wrapped up by now.  While I'm looking forward to Rayman, I'm very excited about the possibilities for BGE2.

does he mean 1080p and 60fps for 2d (as example arcade games) or also for big 3d games? if he means for big 3d games it would be great news.

Since it was not specified that would automatically iimply all cases.

I think this line makes it pretty clear he was just talking about Rayman

"At last he says he's not sure yet if Wii U can handle his vision of BGE2, because he only has a 2D experience with it so far."

Anyway what does it mean by "60 i/s framerate. " surely he doesn't mean interlaced, so what does the "i" stand for?

"Images per second" would likely make sense.
