What's the point of this if you can make legitimate home brew with playstation mobile?

Pirate vita games of course.

Apparently

People don't like to say it, but it's a fact. PSP portion of Vita has been hacked, allowing for homebrew (let's be honest, there was no need to hack the vita seeing as the psp, iphone etc have already been hacked for homebrews and what not)

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Around the Network

Vita Doomz and Gloomz was responsible for teh Haxz!

In a conversation with the haxer, he said this:

Unsurprisingly, Yifanlu's further comments about his motivations echo Vita sentiments seen around the Web. "I got a Vita on launch date because I believe the system has a big potential, and I still do, but right now, there really isn't that many good new games out," Yifanlu noted to Crave. "I thought I could juice some use out of this $300 device if I can run homebrew on it."

But more importantly, he said this too:

"As a developer, I am completely against piracy," Yifanlu told Crave when queried about his intentions for the PS Vita hack. "My tools, when released, cannot be used for that purpose."

*Cough* Bullshit *Cough*

If vita had the best collections of games ever, hackers would still be going at it and find another excuse to justify their actions.

Vita has a plethora of games, it was even classed as having the best launch selection by a fair few amount of people. The only reason why hackers bought it on the day 2 is because they want the accolade of being the guy who first hacked it.
