I don't think this is any different. Vita needs a steady flow or 2 or 3 hit titles per month, not one every 3 months. Sony needs to look at how Nintendo is sustaining 3DS momentum and try to emulate that strategy. |
Yeah. Sony needs to emulate Nintendo's strategy by not releasing as many first party games and hope that the third party games make all the sales for them. They tried that with the PS3 and see where that got them for the first year?
The difference between Sony and Nintendo is just that. Nintendo is Nintendo and regardless of how mediocre a first party game is, it sells tons. Aside from Uncharted 3, Unit 13 and Wipeout 2048 which are the two best games on the Vita, are also the worst selling games on the Vita.
That's one major problem, not with Sony, but for Sony, as I personally think they're doing a great job. None of Sony's franchises have the selling power of any of the major Nintendo franchises. Hell, they don't even have the selling power of any of the major 360 franchises. It's not because the games aren't as good, although opinion only, they're better than most of what either other console developer has put out, it's just that people don't buy them. I think the name brand Sony is probably the reason why, rather than the lack of games.
