Maybe they have a partner? Just like Namco with Smash Bros or Team Ninja with Other M.
Other theory could be that both Zelda teams (handheld and console) are working on it, while Grezzo is working on a new Zelda for 3DS or the Majora's Mask remake.
I believe this last one depends on the schedule of the 3DS. Maybe there are a lot of games from third partys and some key ones from Nintendo to keep the momentum, so no hurry for a Zelda on handhelds. Wii U needs more this game than 3DS. Remember that Nintendo consoles don't have the same 3rd party support.

Sounds reasonable. Nothing weird or unbeliable. In fact holiday 2014 was my optimistic scenario. Hope is right!
Some points:
1. Art Style - Using the same Skyward Sword artstyle will be the right decision. As Rol mentioned in his post, it is enough worrisome to have the largest team and budget in this game. In that way, they don't have to spend a lot of time.
2. Story - An interesting thought: Majora's Mask has the same artstyle as Ocarina of Time, and it's a direct sequel. Same as Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks with Wind Waker. This game having the same one as Skyward Sword will let us think it's a direct prequel or sequel to Skyward Sword, although sequel seems more reasonable.
3. Dungeons & Overworld - Forest again? :/ ... Well, the "all the forest is a dungeon" could mean again big areas as happened with Skyward Sword. I hope it's not the case. I like that in Skyward Sword, but will love to see a big interconnected overworld with the power of the Wii U.
Hopefully this is right, as I didn't have read official confirmation for the acomplishments.
