I feel that the general idea is to consolidate the users into one or two well known threads, you get the best response that way.  At the same time I feel like they are trying to get rid of the "I'm bored and free for the next hour let's have a random tourney", which will be forgotten and then a new one will be made a few hours/days later.  Obviously they are  trying to prevent two different people making threads at the same time and splitting the few people who actually race.

Yes, that is the major point. I'm happy you are at least trying to see our side of the story.

Copy-cat or duplicate threads have always been issues on this site. Official threads help keep that down.

Yeahhhh, But wat if you kept the official thread and somebody else just do a tourny thread just for that tourny only ?

I didn't see a huge problem last week? http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=182246&page=1

There is proof enough. By having a thread for just 1 specific tourny, it wont hurt you and that host thread will easily dissapear like the one i just posted did!

The problem is, and I know you'll natrually disagree, that could/would be too many threads. Organized threads are the best kind, and they've all worked very well in recent history. Official threads have been made before and they will be pretty much exactly like mine. Having an Official thread like this will be able to contain everyone into one (or two, in this case since ConeyG will also be hosting a tourney) community where we can all easily talk to each other and be able to set up races. This works. You know it does considering your participation in the MK7 tourneys at the Official Nintendo Thread.

Your point about people not being able to see my thread is not completely true. Anyone who posts in my thread will automatically bump it to the Hot Topics, where everyone will see it. And, by the way, anyone can talk to me about how to make the Official MK8 thread a better "Official" thread. There's never been a need for this absolutely silly backlash and behind-closed-doors PMs you guys are talking on. I'm absolutely happy to help make my thread flexible. That's what would make the best kind of Official thread. I want to make a great MK8 community on here, much like how TruckO wants to make a great SSB community on here, or how Smeags wants to make a great Pokemon League. However, I can't do that when people aren't trying to help the thread, in this case.

Of course we'll disagree because we've already explained about a billion times now how all your arguments don't work. In short, the site already has too many threads, and history is irrelevant compared to the now!

Also, proof that seperate threads are better. A few weeks back I hosted a MK7 tournament in a separate thread. We got 8 people. Prior to that, I hosted a tournament within the Nintendomination thread. We got like 4 people...

And if you wanna help the community, stop this silly tournament thread restriction. That's what much of the community wants as you can see by that list I posted earlier.

What is the problem with NinPie doing an official "Tournament thread", where people can organise stuff amongst eachother?

NinPie is active enough that he can update the thread, contribute to discussion and join in with tournaments. I see no problem with it.

If Im being silly and missing something, feel free to tell me to shut up.

The plan is that NinPie will be hosting "ranked" tourneys at particular timeslots; but that doesn't mean there can't be additional unofficial ones there either. These will use a different community code and will work very similarly to that seen in the NintenDomination thread (with regards to MK7 ofcourse).

In other words, that'll be a kind of "practice" room where if you're on at the time you can play with whoever is there. In the first few weeks I expect that to be relatively busy with everyone trying to get the upper hand!

Apologies if that was mis-interpreted in any way. More accurately; apologies if that information wasn't passed on to you guys

Which is basicly what I wrote in the PM.

I get where Coney and Pie comes from, but maybe a compromise would be the right thing here? Everyone can create tournaments here and there, but organized (like weekly, and/or with reward systems or something else that sets it appart) is their thing, unless they let you create one for yourself.

Signing out, cause I'm happy with that result. :D

I want to make a Halo tournament thread when the next Halo comes out. Is that ok or will I be perma banned?

1. NintendoPie takes care of the official thread, hosts two to three tournaments per week. Tallies up results for his tournaments.

2. Another user wants to host weekly MK8 tournaments. Posts in NintendoPie's thread, NPie posts the additional time slot(s) in his OP, user creates a dummy post in the official thread which he will use to tally up results of his tournaments, NPie attaches a link to that post to the timeslots of that host in his OP.

And that's it.

Just for that post I won't ever ban you again.

If I pretend your avatar is a 10/10 can I have immunity, also how do I multi quote?

If you have to pretend then no.

To multiquote, your Ctrl-Click on every post you want to quote. It will open a new tab for each quote. Then you have to copy-paste the quotes in your reply one by one.

Pretty much; NinPie's tourneys will be "ranked" and have a leaderboard where everyone can look to as well.

This was all explained before this whole mass PM was a thing, you know. I would like to apologize to everyone involved in this mass PM as well, so many notifications must be incredibly frustrating. Please don't do it again.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Can someone point me in the direction of the MK8 tournament thread?

Einsam, we've also tried to explain to you how your arguments "don't work." You act as if you are the one in the automatic right here, but you aren't. You've brought points to the table, and some I agree with, but not all are through-and-through good like you are trying to prove.

How many people are usually in ConeyG's races? How do you not know that, in comparison to the MK7 races, this number will hugely increase thanks to MK8 being a new game? In this case, the numbers will be different. My thread will definitely be in the Hot Topics and people will take notice. I intend to bump my thread after all my edits are done in order to have people take early note so they can plan ahead.

Seriously though, you don't have the whole community in those PMs. You were also not telling the complete truth in those PMs, which ConeyG and I have both shown to be true. You act like we want a dictatorship over how and exactly what times these tourneys are hosted. We don't. Our intiative is plastered all over this thread, but you refuse to even listen. Instead you automatically label our arguments as silly and false.

Oh right cheers, maybe one day I won't have to pretend.
