it was actually a misunderstanding, because I never trolled you; you trolled yourself. 

Overall I must say I like the performance of the mod team. My bans were all justified and this forum serves to help me word my views in a debatable manner.

However there was one issue where the moderator let his personal bias creep in. This was the news of Sony Liverpool closing. Emotions were running high and I got banned for giving off a "I told you so" vibe. That was fine. But this is what a certain someone said to me:

"You are such a pathatic and fucked up individual...this is a sad occasion and THIS is how you react. When MS closed dev teams you know what me and any other sane person say? We said that we hope they find employment soon. same with THQ and others. You on the other hand use this as an 'opportunity' to fuel some made up console warrior bullshit in your mind which no one frankly gives a shit about.

THAT'S what my lashing out is about. You can get your paranoid ass and go check for yourself how I reacted in the past if I waved my hand or what not. Why a guy like you isn't permabanned by now is just fucking unbelievable. You need professional help. Not everything is a battle, not everything is a war and not everything is a rivalry. If you can't set aside your stupid agenda even at a situation like this .......it just shows how sad of an individual you are in real life. Then again your youtube videos had made that clear already."

Now this was a serious post against me. Whether I was acting like an ass was beside the point. I never insult a person on a personal level here. Sony is a faceless corporation and PS3 is plastic. But this was a personal attack that I never do on a forum.

This guy got a 1 day ban for that comment. 1 day because the mod felt it was justified. I didn't think that was right at all.

If I deserved a ban, then so did BenVtigger. The thread was perfectly fine, people were giving their ideas and opinions. It was a fair discussion, then he came in saying "Halo isn't overtracked...this is just a time for Sony fans to attack..." You don't think that warrants a ban?

I was banned because my post "added nothing to the discussion." If that's the case, then Ben should have been banned too because saying "this is just taime for Sony fans to attack" also 'adds nothing to the discussion.'

I'd say the mods are doing an okay job, but I think more can be done to improve the overall quality of the forums. Some of the issues I've noticed lately:

- duplicate threads (sometimes they are slightly different, but they're essentially about the same topic)
- vague thread titles
- I'll often notice thread titles with spelling mistakes that go uncorrected
- some posters will create a new thread for every minor bit of news they come across on the internet.
Often times the news article they find is just copied word for word into the first post. They don't bother highlighting the important parts of the article, and they don't bother to provide any of their own thoughts on the article. It's incredibly lazy.

"Sony fans to attack and ms fans to be defensive" still adds nothing to the thread and it destroys the integrity of the posters. The statement suggests that people who say the game is overtracked are only pushing their Sony agenda, and vice-versa. It makes what could have been a reasonable discussion and turns it into a Sony VS Microsoft War.

It doesn't matter if his statement was accurate. If a person is a troll, do we have the right to call him a troll? No. Even though it would be an accurate statement, you cannot call others trolls.

Similarly, you cannot degrade people's intentions by saying that they're trying to attack Microsoft and/or trying to defend Microsoft. BenV's post was insulting to people that were discussing the numbers because they were sincerely interested in the numbers and weren't doing it to 'attack' Microsoft.

Anyone saying things like that deserves a frickin' week off this place!! That really was some harsh shit you had to take...

So do the mods have a list of action items based on the feedback in this thread?

If I may ask how long were you banned for your comment?

So are certain users allowed to post flamebait threads while the rest can't?
