So, I must ask. How is Nintendo failing?

This seems to be the general consensus from around the net. It was that the 3DS wasn't going to do that well. Then that become the 3DS isnt doing so well in North America and that Nintendo had lost the North American audience. Now it is nearly doubling the sales of the 360 and PS3 in North America.

Can someone explain this to me? I am confused.

The 3DS sales are simply amazing.

I am firmly convinced that smartphones are eating into handheld sales and yet the 3DS is selling almost as well as the DS did (I havent checked the numbers but I think it is, roughly).

Sales doesn't dictate how good a game is. For example, MK7 vs. UC3.

With all of the doom and gloom threads and news, someone had to ask.

you shouldn't be confused as they sell bad even when they sell good. Nintendo is held higher than other platforms so if a console sells less than 200k a week its doomed!!

if one of the others sell 50k a week its considered a huge week!

It might have something to do with NSMB2. I'd wait a couple weeks to see more.
