Torchic FTW!

In Pokemon Sapphire? Swampert is better...

Well this is supposed to be difficult, right? I vote Treeko. Mudkip is pretty broken.

Mudkip is the only right answer.

EDIT: Actually, the man above me has a point. I want to see you suffer. Pick the chicken.

Torchic narrowly got the most votes by the time I checked, and I like him, so Torchic it is!

I spam Scratch attack and win with 16 health.

Okay.

*One transition later*

I receive the Torchic as a gift. I'm naming him "Piconjo" after my favorite Pokemon from my last Nuzlocke run, which I gace up on after his death. Feel free to suggest more nicknames in the future!

Anyhow, the Professor told me to meet his daughter on Route 103, so it's time for the first part of my quest!

Thank you random stranger!

I go through Route 101, beating up a Wurmple and a Zigzagoon along the way. Piconjo levels up for the first time!

In Oldale Town, I rest up and grab a free potion from a guy standing around. Then, it's up to Route 103.

Darn, I run into a wold Pokemon. Now I can't Capture anything from this route either. Sigh...

Anyway, I run from fights to keep my health up until I reach my goal:

The First Boss FIght

I start off with a Growl, just to confuse my audience. Their Tackle only does 3 damage, reducing Piconjo's health to 19. Another Growl reduces damage dealt to 2. We trade Physical blows until the enemy is nearly down. Then, suddenly:

Damn Critical hits! That Mudkip took out half of Piconjo's health in one blow! Will this be the end of our journey? Will our adventure end so soon? Will-

You didn't think I'd forget about my Potion, did you?

I go on to easily win the fight. Piconjo reaches Level 7 and learns Focus Energy, a move I'll never use.

Anyway, I then get to go back to the lab, where I get my Pokedex and Balls! I'll be sure to use them next episode, when I hopefully capture my second Pokemon. Until then, anybody have any suggestions for nicknames?

Good luck on this, I thought about doing a run once, except I don't like to replay games x_x

Now that we have Pokeballs, let's go to Route 102 and get our first new Team Member!

I go into some nearby grass, and what do I find?

Some stupid little worm... I throw a Scratch or two to weaken them, throw a Pokeball, and get my second party member!

I'm naming him Smeags.

After an impromptu training session on Route 101 to toughen Smeags up. A bunch of level 2 and 3 Zigzagoons and Wurmples later, along with frequent trips to the Pkmn Center for regular healing, and the team is at levels 7 and 8. Combined with Smeags's evolution, and I should be ready for Route 102.

The first trainer goes down after a surprisingly tough fight. Both Piconjo and Smeags were necessary.

The Bug Catcher after him goes down easily under Smeags's assault. Of course, that doesn't stop me from hurrying back to the Cernter after every trainer battle. Anyway, I grab the berries and hurry through the route, not stopping for any treasures like that Potion I know is around there somewhere. I heal at the center, and then it's time to go to the gym for the mandatory Pokemon Catching tutorial.

*5 Minutes Later*

Man, that was boring! Something about a noob catching a Ralts and my Dad waiting until I was ready to face him. Huh. Anyhow, on to Route 104!

Nice, some varriety! I'm naming her Rol.

Anyhow, that's enough for tonight. Any suggestions for nicknames, male or female? Tips for using my new team? Etc?

I tried doing this before, and I died on the first battle against my rival (when you only have your starter pokemon). Per the rules his faint meant death and I therefore couldn't play the game anymore. Shortest run ever.

Those happen quite a bit. The trick is to find the Potion usually hidden near the beginning of the game. Also, use the stat-based move once followed by the regular attack until victory.

I like the idea of naming your party after VGChartz members. Should add some humor to the mix. Next 'mons would be Pezus, Galakai, Spurgeon, etc.
