Next Zelda gotta be a game that you can play either with the gamepad for classic-touch-enhanced control, and with wiimote, for Skyward Sword control.

You could engage in assymetric co-op to beat the game, or play all by yourself, of course the game is different depending the method you choose to play.

BAM! Both audiences satisfied. And you get kinda 2 games in one.

again with this? its like making two games in one as it will need two sets of AI to react to either buttons or swings of the player

So be it. Plus, not really, it's just the battle dynamics and certain sword-driven puzzles, that's it. Everything else is the same.

it would take longer to make or add to the cost if the team is to get bigger which it already will be as more graphical work will go into the next console Zelda.

personally I think they will chose one way and go with it

I will buy it either way but I would be disappointed if they go back to buttons

They should give people the choice, always. The extra sales would warrant the added cost Roma.

well Nintendo doesn't usually give you choices in how to play your game. lets say they do that and in the future decide to do something different should they include all three ways to play a game?

the problem I see in SS is it has many different things that can effect the sales and motion is just one of them the other is the stile, third its a second Zelda which sells less than the first Zelda going by sales. Fourth it has kind of a hub which is different than Zeldas before it (I prefer a world like TP/OoT)

the question is does Nintendo know which one of these is the reason?

That's an interesting question, but I think it would be pretty easy for them to figure it out. Lately I was about to make a thread about an Iwata asks on Zelda SS, before it was released. The major point of contention between Aonuma and Miyamoto was the inclusion of Motion controls in the sword swing. It was the big "let's experiment and see how it goes" kind of thing, where Aonuma had to learn to trust Miyamoto, so much so that Miyamoto had to ask Eguchi san to prove that sword M+ was doable and he did in Wii Sports Resort.

When the sales of SS failed to meet the sales level of TP while the Wii had an installbase of 90M+, it's not really such a challenge to find the culprit imho.

Two styles of play, adapting the enemy battle styles depending on the option chosen, problem solved.

Skyward Sword Sold 3.42 December(early) last year.....

How does it say 3.38 IN AUGUST ON VGCHARTS?

Has to be undertracked by a good number.

Thoughts?

Hmm.

If it shipped 3.42m worldwide by the end of December.........ITS GOTTA BE UNDERTRACKED. I highly doubt that after 9 months have passed, we still have copies from that shipment still residing on shelves.

Zelda did not sell that great sure, but it did not sell bad enough where year-old shipments still reside in stores! Unfortunately, we have to wait until the next Nintendo pdf. for the number update.

Leatherhat on July 6th, 2012 3pm. Vita sales:"3 mil for COD 2 mil for AC. Maybe more. "  thehusbo on July 6th, 2012 5pm. Vita sales:"5 mil for COD 2.2 mil for AC."

Even i f shipped sorry no game has that many shipped still there.

In reality it's probably 3.7-.8

For the record Vgcharts does shipped too look at vita and some overtracked ps3 games.

I never hear people using this kind of argument to suggest that Uncharted should support Move or that Halo should support Kinect. Motion controls worked for Skyward Sword, and they'll work even better for the next game. I don't want the dev team to be hung up on the question "can we also do this with traditional controls?" every time they make a new gameplay mechanic or enemy type. Especially because eventually the answer will be "no," and then the team is stifling their creative impulses for the sake of conformity.
