Forums - Gaming - First trailer of MGS Ground Zeroes! MGS5 announced!

Damn Kojima you are GOD!

The 360/PS3 (Wii U?) will be able to run this, but some of the effects and such will likely have to be dialed down.

Think Battlefield 3 (PC vs. PS3/360 versons).

720/PS4 will probably run it at the fidelity you saw in that trailer at 1080p.

That said *in game* you can sorta tell the graphics aren't quite as robust as the scripted cut sequences. Still mighty impressive though.

Hype at maximum. Game looks amazing and will probably be the final hurrah of the ps3.

Since a few people are a bit confused about the chronology, here it is:

(Naked Snake/Big Boss)
Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater
Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops
Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker
Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes

(Solid Snake/Big Boss' Clone)
Metal Gear
Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake
Metal Gear Solid (The Twin Snakes)

(Solid Snake in Mission 1, Raiden for the rest of the game)
Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty

(Solid Snake, Also now called Old Snake)
Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots

(Raiden, Though this game isn't cannon)
Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance

MGS Rising takes place before MGS4, because one of the screenshots in Rising shows Crying Wolf.

So, in which order i should play MGS games? Start with first one on the PSX?

The game's title was changed to Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance to reflect that it isn't part of the main Metal Gear Solid seris, but is instead a spinoff that takes place after Metal Gear Solid 4.

"We've only said that the period setting is several years after MGS4. Metal Gear Rising is not part of the Metal Gear Solid series. At present, we can't say more than this," Kojima posted on Twitter.

EDIT: From Wiki-

"The game was originally announced during 2009 as Metal Gear Solid: Rising (メタルギアソリッドライジング Metaru Gia Soriddo Raijingu?), an interquel set between the events of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots following Raiden's transformation into a cyborg produced solely by Kojima Productions.[12][13] As the game was about to be cancelled due to difficulties in developing it, it was reannounced in late 2011 that Platinum Games would develop the game as Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, removing the stealth elements to be used in the original game. The game's setting has since been changed to give the Platinum staff more freedom in the making of the game. Nevertheless, the Kojima Productions staff is responsible for the game's plot and characters' designs.[14]"

Just play them in the order they're released, geez.
