I would expect them to be close to double, if not more, than whatever Japans were. Did it release at Midnight in Japan?

I think Japan DD was 5% - that's why I think western DD will be around 10%. and I have no clue if it was a midnight release in  Japan :P

NSMB2 is between 0.3 and 0.4 GB, so it shouldn't take up too much space.

I think NSMB2 will sell 4 or so million this year worldwide, and will end up being outsold by the first two "New" games. Still, that will make it potentially one of the top 10 selling games of the year, and definitely the best selling 3DS game. Heck, it might even be more than the top ten new Vita games of 2012 combined.

I haven't seen a single ad for the game outside of news articles that specifically say 'here's the ad for NSMB2'. That probably factors in. I expected a huge campaign alongside the launch of the 3DS XL, but I guess not...

I think the holidays will be very good to this game, though. 6 to 6.5 million worldwide by the end of the year.

Why do you think this game will fail? Retailers (especially in America) are going to use it to move 3DS hardware during the holidays and parents will buy it for their kids. Based on that alone it's going to pass 6m by year's end.

This is the same logic I will use when I predict the Wii U passes the PS4 by 40 million units.
