As wisely pointed out by FishyJoe the NPD predictions fail to include TRU and Wal-Mart. Those are two of the most important chains. TRU is huge for Wii and Wal-Mart for playstation. The numbers are similar enough to say they are both reasonably accurate and we will hear financials at the end of the month. Ioi can wait until then to make adjustments.

Software is a different story. Once again he got most of the titles right but the volume is off. We have to be patient the software predictions are still very immature with fewer reporting stores than the hardware. Hopefully now that the holidays are over the kinks can be worked out for 2008

Man, some of you don't even try to think things through. While npd doesn't get direct data from neither tru nor wal-mart, they DO estimate they sales. NPD estimates for the 100% of the market. If somehow your beloved brand (whatever it is) failed to accomplish, be sure everything was estimated for.

Current-gen game collection uploaded on the profile, full of win and good games; also most of my PC games. Lucasfilm Games/LucasArts 1982-2008 (Requiescat In Pace).

Rock Band, across all platforms, is over 1M.

"Despite only two months at retail, and having an average retail price of over $160, it brought in sales (across platforms) of over $180 million."

Nintendo's Reaction:

PS3 software continues to sell terrible in USA as well as Japan. Must be really hurting Sony's pocketbook.

The war is pretty much over in USA, 360 has beaten PS3 here. PS3 will not come back from a 6 million unit deficit already 2+ years into the generation. PS3 falls farther and farther behind each month.

Wii should catch and surpass 360 around January 2009.

 w00t! Go Rock Band!

Now, where's my Rock Band for the Wii? *shakes fist*

There is no such thing as a console war. This is the first step to game design.

I think these numbers also mean that Guitar Hero III (across all platforms) was the highest selling game in the USA this year.

So Resident Evil : UC is around 520k between USA and Japan ( 270 + 250 ) until early January.
Does some of you remember Capcom prediction for this title ?
