Unless it's modified to mean something else within the original statement or question, it should mean "only available on one platform." That's what the word means. That's why it falls on the person framing the original statement or question to explain exactly what they intend to say.

When you're talking about gaming systems, I don't think PC can automatically be left out of the discussion, either. After all, PS3 exclusives not being on PC was a major reason I went with that platform over the 360 initially.

Exclusive should only mean "I can only play on platform X".

If someone can play a game and get an equivalent or incredibly similar experience on another platform, then it can't be exclusive.

If it's not on Platform Z but is on platform X and Y, it just means the game is not on Platform Z, not that it's exclusive.

If I can choose to play the game in PS3 or PC it's not exclusive at all.

PS3/Vita games are not exclusives too... It can be "playstation exclusive" but not "ps3 exclusive" or "psv exclusive".

But if the games are differents like "Uncharted: GA is exclusive for PSV" and "Uncharted 1, 2 and 3 are exclusive for PS3".

It doesnt really matter what you think, posters will twist numbers to suit their agenda at that time. Any poll is also pointless as a indicator too.

We still dont know what exclusive means in 2012. People have already explained why it being on ONE platform is exclusive, but if someone still doesnt get it, get a dictionary

^ This. I have always thought of an exclusive as being on solely one platform. And of course, if an 'exclusive' is available on two platforms (i.e. pc and xbox) then a ps3 can still play the game albeit not on a ps3. 

The definition of 'exclusive' is pretty unambiguous. It means only available on one system.

But in the context of certain arguments, games available on one console & not on another is also relevant. Games like this are important when comparing the libraries of two consoles, since these games act as factors that differentiate between the consoles.

Let's say for example you're comparing the libraries of the PS3 and the Wii. Games like Grand Theft Auto, Assassin's Creed, and Red Dead Redemption, while not exclusives, still contribute to the PS3's library being better than the Wii's.

thought people used console exclusive to mean it was exclusive to one of the big three consoles and exclusive when it is only on one system.
