Forums - Gaming - Which console has the best lineup for the 1st half of 2008 in your opinion?

I don't think that SSBB or MK will outsell GTA4 (PS360) but I'm sure that GTA4 will not have the same success as GTA San Andrea (15m). I think it would sell for around a total of 10m copies on both console. Will SSBB or MK sell reach 10m copies imo probably not.

dodece, your ideas are fine for yourself. But when you go as far by saying that "the truth is on my side" that's where your mind is stuffed up your ass dude!!!!!! this is a thread of opinions!!! it's like your trying to convince people that the ps3 has the best lineup instead of just stating your opinion! and then you say "deep down you know that" and some blasa bullshit and shit!!! you can keep crap like that to yourself!!!!

@leo-j
you have a corny ass sarcasm, seriously!

Damn things have changed since 2009 began. Here are my new visions for the end of the generation.

Wii: 135 mil

Ps3: 85 mil

360: 60 mil

More must have games is more important then a couple hyped Wii first party releases, and you know that deep down where you do not want to admit that. Brawl or Kart do not eclipse Devil May Cry, Prologue, Haze, Turok, Dark Sector, Killzone 2, Little Big Planet, Grand Theft Auto, Metal Gear, and Home.

 DMC3: Multiplatform

Prologue: A glorified demo that doesn't really sell well anyway

Turok: Multiplatform

Dark Sector: Multiplatform

Killzone 2: Not guaranteed to be released in the first half of '08

Little Big Planet: Probably won't be released in the first half of '08

GTA: Multiplatform, and better version on the 360

Home: Not a game

That leaves Haze and MGS4. In other words, two games, one of which isn't guaranteed to be a hit. "Only two titles," huh?

Nota bene: While many of the games I listed for Wii are multiplatform, Wii has more exclusives guaranteed for the first half of '08 than either the PS3 or 360. And most of the multiplatform releases are either enhanced ports (likely with enough extra content + control scheme to satisfy people who have played them before), or will feature unique motion controls.

"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."

wii, I can't afford all the games I want in the first six months....all two of them!

It depends really on what games make it here in Europe before July, and what don't.

The Wii does look dam awesome, and should Mario Kart, Wii Fit, Smash Bro's, Okami, Zack and Wiki and No More heroes all make it in time, then that is one hell of a kick arse line up. 6 must have games in 6 months, incredible going.

However, I still think the Ps3 can top that. It's very very hard to tell at the moment as Sony are being so tight-lipped over the line up, whatsmore there are alot of games which could be amazing or a failure, most notably Haze. Even without Haze, DMC4, GTAIV, MGS4 and UTIII are all must haves for me, and there are tons of games which we'll never know they're worth until the reviews are in.

I don't know alot about the 360 to be honest, but Lost Oddyssey looks great. Can't say much else :/.

So er, in conclusion, PS3 with Socom Confrontation = Win, without = Wii Wins. I'm just a Socom whore I guess.

Release lists obviously are always subject to change. That said you have to work with what you got. You can't really open the doors to speculation, because the knife cuts both ways. Yes Sony has had issues with delays, but so has Nintendo. Given what has happened with Smash Brothers it is just as likely that Mario Kart will be delayed a minimum of three months.

A title being on multiple platforms doesn't tarnish my argument in the least, because the titles listed aren't on the Wii. They might not add points to the PS3 in comparison to the 360, but they are valid points against the Wii. To put it bluntly the game being on two consoles does not cancel a particular game out of the equation. Which is a bogus excuse that gets used far too often.

This thread might be about opinions, but most who have posted have felt some compulsion to justify their conclusion. That is part of a discussion, but my opinion is this many in this thread intentionally spewed things even they did not believe to be true. Do we want meaningful discussion, or merely to masturbate to the view?

360 and PS3

Wii has a lot of shovelware and far too many games for children and this is coming from a Wii owner
