Nintendo Also Has a Retailer Briefing This Week

Nintendo information overload!

Expect lots of Nintendo news this week, and not just from tomorrow's Nintendo Direct broadcast! Sinobi, the retailer you'll recognize from our weekly Famitsu early flying gets, reports that Nintendo will also be hosting one of its periodic retailer briefings this week. Sinobi did not provide the date.

As Sinobi notes, retailer briefings usually result in a release date announcement or the start of promotions for a major game. He appears to have high hopes (just hopes -- no educated speculation) that there could be something related to Animal Crossing 3DS.

Yeah, ND Japan is great, but Reggie and Euro-Satoru should do one too to release some dates (MONSTER HUNTER DAMMIT... ahem)

Pray, tell.

In a NCL Direct? You must be the most lucky guy in the world.

Topic:

- Animal Crossing in September/October

- Paper Mario November (as Wii U will be Dec for Jap)

- Some third party dates as Bravely Default, Project X Zone and others.

- 2013 games: Luigi Mansion 2 for Feb, Castlevania for Feb also and MH4 end of march or mid april.

- Maybe about NSMB2 DLC planned for next year.

Dunno about Wii, but maybe one or two games in the same vein as kicki trick, so nothing important.

Gtfo! Wii U or bust!

I really want Nintendo to start shedding more Wii U info... sigh.

Uhmm, building an anti-momentum for TGS?

I'm really liking this feature, nothing fancy, not really PR, just the stuff we like :)

If we go by history, there's a pretty good chance of new things

Let's do a little recap, from the top of my head I can think of those announcements from the 2 last ND

Culdcept announced
Project X-Zone Announced
Calciobit Announced
Pokémon Apps/Games announced
3DS XL announced
New Super Mario Bros 2 announced
Onitore announced

Hmm, maybe that's it... but pretty sure some first looks for other games (Etrian Oddysey?) were shown in ND too

Bad news, read at your own risk

Glad to see some people pumped for Animal Crossing. I don't expect too many groundbreaking things from AC:3DS but it will be nice to start a new town again. I am expecting a lot from the Wii U version though so they better not let me down. There should be a way to be able to play your VC games on your system while in Animal Crossing. While that wouldn't really add anything it would bring back nice memories for me of the GCN version.
