They have been doing this kind of presentation every 2 months for almost a full year, they usually made it on the 22nd and they announce it 1 day before the actual "event", each of this shows is around 30 minutes long and they use it to present new games that are comming in the next 4-6 months, release new trailers of the game already announced and give concrete dates for the ones that don't have one yet. Also the show is region expecific, so this one that is for Japan will give information only for Japan.

Manuel, can you translate Iwata's swapnote, please? Any teasing at all or just dates and stuff?

From neogaf, quite useful

I'll update the OP too

8 AM for me

They have become pretty strategic with their timing of new announcements and game releases which has proven very disruptive to potential success of PS-Vita.

Inazuma Eleve Collection is sure to make an appearance for the first time too. Chrono Stone 2 also!

There, this is my dream list of known things

Animal Crossing
Layton vs Wright
Inazuma Eleven (the two games)

No teasing at all, just an announcement:

I'm Iwata from Nintendo.
This is an announcement about the next Nintendo Direct.

August 29th, from 8p.m.

Information about 3DS and Wii...

delivered straight from the source.

I think that they will give away some release dates to for example: P-Mario, Animal Crossing and some infirmation of games that have not had a whole lot of news, like L vs Wright. To end it of Iwata will announce a new game.

Thanks, Manuel

Well, since tomorrows MC/Famitsu numbers are probably going to be a bore (everything down and no new games - except a very niche Vita game) this will be a nice thing to follow

No problem. :)
I also think it will be nice.
Iwata is a nice guy to listen to.

So like a few people here, i'm also expecting Animal Crossing 3DS news in this Direct.
