Nintendo fans suffered a severe oppresion for years! Sony fans were cruel, but Nintendo fans were brave and resisted.

It is not that Nintendo fans overtook VGC, they just broke the chains of the oppresor, and can now freely broswer through the gaming realm. Besides, everybody knows where the thousands of oppresors are now hiding.

Hey, I am one. Atari fans assimilated themselves into the retro game community, and hide there.  If we survived the management of Jack Tramiel, there was no way we were going to be buried in that landfill in Area 51 with the ET carts.  The being assimilated by Nintendo was a false ruse.  There was a brief uprising when Game Room appeared on the XBox 360, but then that faded.

Don't you think this is because of the context ? Ninty's new platform is coming, the 3DS is a success for now and third parties keep on announcing new games for it. Neither MS nor Sony have really shown anything from their new platform, who are still in a limbo. Big N had also really disappointed this gen, so fans are awaiting the new era like reapers await another killing orgy in the galaxy....

Also, and I speak for my case, even if I'm a fan of nintendo from the NES/SNES era, the Wii, this site, PC gaming, and buying a PS3 made me really evolve in my gaming choices, so on my side, my fanboyism as really dampen dramatically. To the point which I'm not really a fanboy to put in a category of P, X or N, I'm just playing games !

So you are saying the Atarians are rebuilding? Maybe plotting a comeback? We shall be prepared.

(Really, I could be considered an Atari fan too, ironically. Still have my 2600 (well, not mine cause I'm not that old, but it was my mom's) and most of my games. Play one every now and then and they still give me laughs and can still 'take a grip' on me even with it's simplicity. The day before yesterday I popped in some Pitfall! and it reminded me how hard these games were. Man I sucked.)

 

Anyway, back to plotting Sony's demise!
