Wow, and you actually sit here and tell others not to speak to you in a condescending manner. You should improve the way you speak to people.

You said "It should be 1080p and 60FPS unless they downgrade it before release" and in that same post you said "Regardless of whether or not it is missing lighting or particle effects".

I was saying that lacking those effects while remaining 1080p and 60FPS is still a downgrade for an open world title like this. I think it would possibly be better served if the resolution was dropped in order to maintain the other mentioned features.

Quit being so defensive.

What am I defending? Correcting your errors is not being defensive. What you are doing in this comment right here(defeding your error) is being defensive. Please, learn how to use words properly before you start making negative accusations. I speak to people relative to how they speak to me and how willing they are to try to understand things.

For the last time. Its not a "performance" issue... it a "time" issue. What is difficult to understand about that? They stated it clearly.

Reducing the resolution would make no difference. The features are just  not implemented. Its already running at a higher resolution and frame rate. This problem has nothing to do with system specs. It has to with the fact that there is no engine developed for the Wii U to adapt the port. The hardware in the Wii U is completely different than the 360 and PS3. You can't justput the game on a disk and expect everything to work properly on a different system. It has to be rewritten and optimized, and that takes time.

What are you correcting? The article says that while it will most likely be 1080p and 60FPS it will be missing features found in the PS360 versions.

I also never said it was a performance issue, so once again quit the condescending speak because you are getting worked up over things I never said. I never mentioned anything on those lines. I only stated that if it is missing features it would still be considered downgraded compared to the PS360 versions, even if the resolution was higher.

I read and responded just fine. So please, by all means show me where I mentioned perfomance issues and where I failed to use words properly. I only have one post in this thread before you went off on me.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

i am not buying it, not that i care about those ridiculous effects and so....
im not going to reward devs that dont put enough effort on the system, the WiiU is more powerful than the others, shouldnt be very hard to make it the best loking console version, but.....ya know devs...are....lazy................and hate Nintendo ;)

Wasn't porting to the Wii U supposed to be easy as a Nintendo pie? Again, I ask you for a source about the 1080p and 60 fps...Surely, the people playing it would have noticed.

It is easy. The devs stated that is take about 2 weeks to have it running on the Wii U. Having to rewrite code for harware features that work completely different on console takes more time, of course. The Wii U does not using the same shading hardware as the PS3 and 360.

You want a source? Go back to one of the many,  many threads where it was discussed in you will find it as I told you the last time you tried this.  I'm not going to out of my way to prove something to you that you are going to either ignore or endless beg/nitpick when I provide it. If you don't want to believe then don't.

This is a tme issue. The features have to actually be coded. They do no exist. This is not a "downgrade." It is still being written and worked on. It has simply yet to be iplemented and they are stating that they will likely not have enough time to finish putting those things into the game.

They've had significantly less time on WiiU dev kits than on PS360... of course it would be not perfect yet. They state their limitations are not hardware but simply put, time. Considering the game has no launch date on WiiU yet, they still have time to continue working on it. Finally, we have no idea on what the actual differences are. Maybe PS360 is at 720p30fps and maybe their trying to push WiiU to 1080p60fps. That all takes more time and they simply haven't had enough yet to put it to its fullest.

Anyone worried about this or any game on WiiU clearly has no clue.

No clue in what respect? The clue is right there in front of us. The only other clues we have are from lilbro who keeps on saying "1080p60fps" with no source.

Every new console has to deal with old gen ports and those at times are not much or any different than the older consoles. Same happened on 360. Same happened on PS3 with looking FAR worse than 360. Its simply a matter of time with the console and engine tuning.

Typically you can get a sense of what it can really do from first party games, however, Nintendo doesn't build super realistic games. Maybe with Zelda or Metroid at some point, but not yet. So 3rd parties have only a very short time with the hardware so these first run games will be "on par" or slightly better than PS360. By next holiday that will be significantly different. Especially as the new engines are coming out and being used on not only WiiU but also the rest of next-gen.

Now, I admit I could be 100% wrong here and Nitnendo could be repeating a Wii where its a marginal upgrade from this gen and gets blown away by the rest of next gen. That could happen, but at this point I still don't think it will.

I doubt this has anything to do with how easy/difficult it is to get games running on the Wii U ...

For whatever reason, a disconnect has occurred between the version of the game engine that is running on the Wii U and the version that is running on the other consoles and it is (for some reason) difficult to resolve the differences in a timely fashion. Unlike what some people probably think, developers don't have the option to continue working on their project right up until the release date, and it is likely that Ubisoft doesn't have time to resolve these differences between now and when the game enters QA.

Hypothetically speaking, it is possible that Ubisoft might be able to begin the work on this change after the game has past both internal QA and Nintendo's QA; and patch the game soon after release to include these features; but that would depend on Ubisoft caring, which we can't count on.

Below par? I bet if you hadn't read this article, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between the two versions side by side.

Meaning they could have focused more on things like the lighting and particle effects instead of focusing on making sure it ran 1080p/60fps native at WiiU launch with the time they had.

I have no doubts they could have easily had all those added effects if they had more time. That was never my point.

Don't PS3 and Xbox 360 both use nVidia chips?  Couldn't the difficulting in lighting and particle effects be mearly due to porting that code to a different brand GPU?

Running something at a higher resolutions is only an issue of straight GPU horse power and RAM which the WIi U has far more of than the 360 and PS3. It was already implemented at e3.

Time would not play into that. That is not difficult to do.
