Im starting school soon and i need a new laptop. I need some suggestions on what type of laptop i should buy. My price range is $700-$1000 thank you.

Honestly anything will do. Go for aesthetics and don't expect to be playing demanding games no matter how much you spend.

(A few years ago I would give a detailed hardware breakdown but everything out there is now good enough)

Vaio, all the way.

I was leaning towards a Vaio then a nice Dell caught my eye.

Any really, if it's only for school you shouldn't need a powerful pc I'm sure.

Just think about helping the Sony buddies and put the money. :)

Build your own desktop. Much more better.

I got a simple macbook when I started college and I still use it today. I've never had troubles with it and it runs smoothly and does everything I need it to (no games).

You also don't have to worry about catching viruses when you... um... do general web surfing.

Asus or vaio
