I think the only way they'd do it is as some sort of marketing push for a Banjo Kazooie revival. Like make a downloadable mascot fighter with Rare characters before the main game releases.

As stated several times already, they don't have enough first party characters. They have a few powerhouses (Halo, Gears of War, maybe Fable) but other than that I don't know where they can get any good solid first-party characters. Then again, I never owned and Xbox or 360 so there may be some other big names that I don't know about.

~~~~ Mario Kart 8 drove far past my expectations! Never again will I doubt the wheels of a Monster Franchise! :0 ~~~~
I'm hoping they'll have a first party roster to do it with at the end of next gen.
Why does every company have to make a Smash brothers clone?
Without order nothing can exist - without chaos nothing can evolve.
Money Money Money
If MS made a character combat game I'd rather they do it different from Smash Bros. Maybe they could do it like Power Stone, one of my favorite Dreamcast games. But I think it would be better to do it as a fast passed third person shooter. Each character has an arena, and their own set of weapons and power ups, but it would play like a super fast passed Gears of War with some Team Fortress mixed in and a little Halo sprinkled on top. I think that would sweet!
Why does it have to be a fighting game?
A mash up shooter would be much more original and interresting, and better suited for the Xbox franchises.
I LOVE ICELAND!
But I feel like they need more characters and more exposure of the existing characters in cameos or new appearances/games as well (such as BK). |
I think Square has already started somehting like this with their Dissidia series, all they need to do is add more characters outside of FF, Crono, Musashi, one of the guys from the bouncer, a Tobal character. I dont think we'll see anything like that from Capcom, the closely is the VS. series. I was hoping they would continue the Pocket Fighter series and just add more characters. Namco should just add characters to the Tekken Tag games since those are non canon anyway. I dont think they should make Smash types of games, their are only so much variation you could do with that sub genre. Im surprsised that more companies havent done things like this. SNK started it and that was way back in 94. I dont see MS doing something like that for awhile.
