Sega SVP Chip versus the Nintendo Super FX Chip
I thought you guys might like this since it's a similar topic.
This is an old video from before I lost over 70 pounds. I hoping to get a new camera soon to do HD vids and get my series going again.

Yep that's me, but I look a lot different. I lost over 70 lbs, shaved my beard, have a different haircut, and half the time I wear glasses. I can't even wear the same clothes because they don't fit anymore.

As a Genesis kid I would just like to say
There was a long period of my childhood that would be properly characterized as a mistake
Always enjoy the Nerd videos. It's a shame he's pretty muched ceased production but he's wrapped up with the ET movie so it's understandable, and should be totally worth the wait..
Oh man, what can I say about the 16 bit wars. They are simply unmatched, even to this day. Truly the golden age of gaming. While Super Nintendo absolutely crushes the Genesis in my book, the Genesis was certainly a formitable opponent, the perfect competitor to Nintendo that was just a little more dark and gritty. It would also be the final time Nintendo would truly compete directly with another video game/arcade company, and one that was pretty similar to them, besides the piss poor marketing that eventually killed Sega as a hardware manufacturer.
Like the Nerd said, Super NES had the RPGs, while Genesis had the sports titles. Aside from that, it boiled down to personal preference, as they both had stellar libraries.
While I, and almost all of my friends were Super Nintendo gamers, I have recently begun to go back and discover a lot of the quality Genesis games I missed out on during my youth, and there really are some kick ass games. Golden Axe, Streets of Rage, Sonic, Toe Jam and Earl, Vectorman, Gunstar Heroes, Mortal Kombat, etc.. However, Super NES's library was simply unbeatable. I mean shit, Mario World, Mario RPG, Yoshi's Island, Secret of Mana, Donkey Kong Country, Link to the Past, Star Fox, F-Zero, Kirby, Turtles in Time, Final Fight, Mario Kart.. you simple cannot beat that lineup, and it still hasn't been beat.
Even though I played the Genesis more I have to agree that the SNES was a much better console. The only edge Genesis had was in sports games.
