Considering that the only game on there that I own - Super Mario Galaxy - was the most disappointing Nintendo game I've ever played and that I don't want to own any of the others, something tells me my opinion is nothing like that of video game critics.
Well, these scores hardly reflect anything very tangible or objective so I suppose that's to be expected, :P.

Really, that much!? I'm the opposite when it comes to Mario Galaxy. Sure, the game could've been more difficult, and the hub world bigger and more interesting, but what they're only minor complaints tome. What did you fing about the game that was so dissapointing?

Oh, you've misjudged me. I'm one of those casuals who bought their first home console this generation with the Wii (well, I owned a DS, GBA and GBC before, but still). In general, I don't find games too easy; I find them too hard, :P.

It wasn't that with SMG, though. I don't know why, but I found it just plain annoying to go through. I've since realized that I'm basically that way with almost all 3D games so it's really not the game's fault so much as it is my inherent dislike for the ability to go up, down, right, left, forward and backward at the same time. Also, I bought the game imagining it to be "the best game ever" from reviews and such, not realizing that it really wasn't for me, so I was even more disappointed, really.

I really just prefer games like Pokemon and 2D Mario over Nintendo's more "core", critically acclaimed titles for the most part (well, I liked Brawl, but that's as far as it goes).

I agree with it. Except take out Bioshock and put in Halo 3.

GTA IV is so overrated. Red Dead Redemption is so much better.

Well GTAIV was just not entertaining past the first few hours. I'm hopeful the sequel will rectify some of the games faults, but it was a total disappointment for me.

Bioshock was also massively overrated in my opinion, I've played the game on the 360, PC and PS3 and I've never once been able to finish it. There are just so many other, better, FPS games available this gen in my opinion. (Although, perhaps not as many back when it released.)

Although I'm not a fan of Skyrim or Mass Effect I appreciate those games have some massive depth and replay-ability to them.

The Mario games, Uncharted and LBP all deserve a spot in the top 10 I think. Very 'fun' games to play that bring a smile to your face.

Well I agree with Galaxy 1 and 2; both are exquisite platformers, and will probably never be matched. And I say that, because I SMG is the first 3D platformer that I've loved since Donkey Kong 64 (Yes Sunshine is a great game, but it lacks that thing). It has had the biggest impact on platform gaming since Mario 64, and just set a standard so high that nothing has matched even the first SMG game, except for SMG 2 which did the impossible and surpassed it.

Of course a lot are gonna say SMG is the better game (and I love it more), but it's more due to the fact that there was more awe and a surprise factor, and it set a high standard for SMG 2. But technically SMG 2 is the better game, and I've even grown to love it more.

The other games I believe deserve to be in that list are The Orange Box, Bioshock, UC2 and Batman. Still believe UC2 is a bit overrated, but it's an amazing game nonetheless. Assassins Creed 2 should definitely be there in my opinion, but can't really talk about the others.

And btw why no CoD? (note this is sarcastic, please don't start a war :P)

PS: Oh yeah, GTA 4 was the most disappointing game this gen along with GT5 (Sony killed the hype for me)

Also, Twilight Princess has a 95 too (96 for the GC version). Little Big Planet has nothing to do there, give that spot to Zelda pls.

Zelda has 95 off 73 reviews, while LBP has 95 from 85 reviews.  I presume that's how they've chosen it.

That doesn't make sense. The requirement for an average on the site is 4, not 74.

EDIT: Oh, just realized the 96 was for Gamecube.

Only see two games on there that I think are actually worthy of the scores and that's Uncharted 2 and Mass Effect 2.

1. Uncharted 3 (PS3) - 97.7
2. GTA IV (PS3/360) - 96.4 (Only because it managed to keep me entertained for 2 years)
3. Red Dead Redemption (PS3/360) - 96.3
4. God of War 3 (PS3) - 95.4
5. Gran Turismo 5 (PS3) - 94.2
6. Halo 3 (360) -94
7. Metal Gear Solid 4 (PS3) 92.7
8. Batman Arkham City (PS3/360) 92.4
9. Uncharted 2 (PS3) - 92.2
10. Gears of War 3 - (360) 91.9

Wow, not even close to my opinion.. Galaxy 2 MAYBE just makes the bottom of my list, Skyrim is an honorable mention but considering how much it's riddled with glitches and bugs, doesn't deserve a top 10 spot IMO.
