That hurts me. I'm wondering if he did any research whatsoever. Or maybe he just looked to see if the 360 sold more than the original Xbox, thus declaring it the best selling console of all time.

Reporter contacts Microsoft: "How are your sales of Xbox 360 going? I'm doing an article on your Surface thingy, and I want to make a comparison with one of your successful products."

Microsoft: "Well we had our best sales year of all time for the 360 in 2011, and we outsold all the other consoles."

Reporter hears: "Xbox 360 is the best selling console of all time."

Admitedly there's a chance 360 will be able to make that claim in North America. It only needs to sell another 14 million 360s to beat the PS2. It certainly has a better chance of doing it than the Wii. Although another 14 million in North America does seem unlikely at this point, though a 2014 720 launch would give it a decent shot.
