Reporter contacts Microsoft: "How are your sales of Xbox 360 going? I'm doing an article on your Surface thingy, and I want to make a comparison with one of your successful products."
Microsoft: "Well we had our best sales year of all time for the 360 in 2011, and we outsold all the other consoles."
Reporter hears: "Xbox 360 is the best selling console of all time."
Admitedly there's a chance 360 will be able to make that claim in North America. It only needs to sell another 14 million 360s to beat the PS2. It certainly has a better chance of doing it than the Wii. Although another 14 million in North America does seem unlikely at this point, though a 2014 720 launch would give it a decent shot.
