Forums - Nintendo - Pachter Essentially Calls Nintendo Fans A Massive Collection of Idiots

Why you got to bring shit to everything. I just don't understand the hate towards apple. They build solid products with excellent UI. Same with Nintendo as they innovate on the software front by bringing new things to gameplay in already exiting franchises. Apple wasn't always the go to brand for most people and still isn't. They have come a long way from 3 weeks away from bankruptcy in mid 90's to the most valuable company in the world. It is just so popular to hate on well popular stuff. See so many negative threads about call of duty.

Yea, Apple wasn't too popular till they released the ipod.  Most of my Apple hate comes from the mentality of owning products because they are cool.  It is pretty simple minded and hypocritical of me.  When Apple first started blowing up I just didn't see a point in spending that much money on a mp3 player.  Sure they make good products because if they didn't no one would buy them.  I just view them as overpriced and some of their fans have talked down on PC users in the past few years.  I believe it is the high school / college mentality of I'm cooler than you because I own this product while you suck because you own that product.  I don't really hate Apple but I dislike them enough to never buy any of their products.  That would be a better mental state for me to constantly take but I do find myself commenting in Apple threads every time they pop up.  Basically, I still need to grow up.  Hopefully, by the time I'm 40.

Depends on how you do it. The fanboy rule has since been discarded, but its not an automatic action like other no-no words that start with "fa."

Pachter is far from fantastic.

And I am so facetious.

WHERE IS MY KORORINPA 3

peope, just never mention him again. as more people talk about his bullshit as more he will be successful. if no one would ever talk about him and his analysis anymore, now that would hurt him.

so, everyone who plans to open the next pachter thread should think twice before doing it because you only do him a favour with that. instead of that people should try to fin analyst who are better at what they are doing and should open threads about these guys to make them "popular" and people will forget that pachter guy.

I think I'll go make a thread on this.

Something like: "Why Everyone Loves Pachter"

Much better response Seth. I really don't like smug people as most of their rationalisations are based on nothing. Humility is not a virtue in most societies these days and the remaning ones are following into the trap too. My only apple product remains an iphone and i got it because it was only like $20-30 bucks more than competing products from Nokia/Samsung/HTC etc. If i had to fork out $800 to buy it from apple store ofcourse i would think a million times. Their products are really quite expensive indeed. I can barely get a mac mini for the money i spent on my pc with 10 times better specs and versatility. I just want to give Apple credit for fostering innovation in many consumer products. Music players, tablets, ultrabooks, design of retail stores and products. Even nintendo might have been inspired by apple starting with DS Lite. It was big jump up from the original iteration.

OT: I like Pachter. He is an affable guy. He is not mostly right but am sure he is making money for people he provides insight too.

Well, as long as he doesn't let that bias get in the way of his shoddy work performance.

Too late.

@kylieDog. How so?

@kowen. I'm a Nintendo fanboy and I'm very offended. I officially despise the guy. Already didn't like him.

Kain and MDMAliiiance both had good arguments, on the one hand i hope he really was reffering to the fanboys; irrational psychos, for his sake on the other he should have known the difference between the two terms

@Oni. There is no definition for fanboy, so it's moot.

He clearly goes from "fans" to "fanboys" in the quote anyway. He's equating the two, so i don't think this is an issue of intent.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
