Evolution of the paaaaaarteh~

Soleron said: Any core gamer would pause and think about the new shape, yes, but I'm thinking from the perspective of the average Wii owner. They didn't make it clear enough on the box that it's not a Wii title, IF you hadn't heard of Wii U yet. No one would mistake a PS2 box for PS or X360 box for X1 even if they weren't aware.
You don't give the average consumer enough credit. They manage to differentiate between the iPhone 4 and the iPhone 4S just fine.

spurgeonryan said: Of course it is a seller. I actually enjoyed the oringinal Game Party more than Wii Play. But it is still shovelware. Which goes to show how much hype there is for the wii U despite how much some on this site try not to show it.
t
im not seeing th correlation between this game and hype for Wii U.
I like your idea of shoving these games on the digital space, but the funny thing is, they did do that on Wii, sorta. Most of those games on WiiWare are shovelware. But the thing is these are the type of games that wouldnt do well on the digital space, the type of people who are buying these games arent exactly checking every week for new titles, thats more something you and me would do. So thats not happening.
You make a good point about these games doing well, but whose fault is that? THese games retail for dirt cheap, I think the original retailed for 20 bucks, thats a small price to pay for someone to pacify their kids, hell of alot cheaper than something like MH Tri. Not to mention the insane sales of WiiSports, can you really blame 3rd parties for trying to emulate that success? its no different than when Mario and SOnic got popular and they all scrambled to make 2d mascots games, Street Fighter 2, 2d fighting games, Virtua Fighter 3d fighters, hell even Squaresoft had one, GTA3=Godfather, etc. Only difference now is that whats popular on Wii isnt popular on the others and vice versa.
BTW people arent hyped, because maybe they are just not hyped. I dont think anyone here is trying to be to coo. Hell I was hyped before e3 now im just "its ok"
wfz said: Why does everyone keep calling this shovelware? Just because it's a genre that receives a lot of shovelware doesn't make this game the same. It could very well end up being shovelware, but damn that looks like a solid effort so far. This could turn out to be a really fun and legitimately good party game.
Then what makes shovelware? And who decides. Is it the sales, does a game have to sell a certain amount before it is considered not shovelware. 1mil 2mil? Is it ads? Pricing? Quality which is very subjective. IE Just Dance, IMHO that is a shovelware game because its only a little bit better than the other dance alternatives on the system, but most people seem to give that one a free pass. Is it the graphics. Im asking cause i dont know
OT It looks good, very good. If they are giving this much attention to the visuals, maybe the dev team behind this actually care about quality and the game itself will actually be good. Looks as good as Sports Champions and Kinect Sports and those are both above average IMHO

If you visit their website you see that they made the Space Pop mini game from Kinect Adventures.
They have some mobile developments too:

The original game for the Wii did so well that Gamestop started charging a $5 premium.
If they put something out there for a budget price that will sell quick, what is the issue?
I would pick this up at $20.

I am Mario.I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I was hessitant before, but you got on the (dem graphics O_O) in the title. Now that I'm seeing it, this might actually turn out bloody good. The detail on the basketball got thinking, "is this really a party game???" for a second there...
