Forums - Sales - For EA, PC > PS3?

http://www.pcgamer.com/2012/08/01/ea-financial-results-revealed/

Pretty interesting.

Were there not a lot of PS3 games released or what?

Seems crazy to see PC gaming pull so high from one of the biggest distributors out there.

I would say its more of a console transition quarter for EA than a trend, No games of any significant released during the April-June time period.

When madden and fifa and nba live and et al come out, itll be back to normal levels.

does EA even still publish handheld games for the 3DS, vita, psp and ds? Mobile is slaughtering the handhelds for the last few quarters..

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

everybody knows PC gaming is dead

and that with origin^^

Xbox 360 prints money to companies...

Wonder how much Activision and Ubisoft are making on 360.

First, the big news, the report breaks down earning by platform. PC delivered $276 million, the Xbox 360 $292 million and the PS3 $267 million

As long as they have shooters and the USA behind them.
Otherwise everyone else is making more money on the PS3 especially Japanese Companies...Bandai Namco(especially they) and even SquareEnix the 360 Fanboys make still their most money on the PS3
And Battlefield on the PC is so strong.Of course a lot of PS3 owners have the money to buy a gaming PC and bought BF3+Mappacks+Premium there(so did i and everyone else i know) - LOL at people who play Battlefield 3 on consoles.
With FIfa13 the PS3 will push ahead again cause in Europe the PS3 is far stronger and Fifa always sells few million more units on the PS3.

But the most important thing is that Origin is doing good and that DD is getting stronger and stronger every year.
PC Gaming in general has a big rise - 230% more sales compared to last year.
Steam and Origin can co exist and make a lot of money - Its a nice punch into the face to those people who said DD will never work.
Its even working on consoles pretty good - Next Gen it will be on a 50/50 base and maybe overtake retail, especially with Streaming and all that stuff.

Sure, Japan and Xbox dont combine, MS might have something planned to Next Gen, they better have.

Americas and EMEAA are all big parts of Xbox DNA right now, its doing great in this places and can only get better once next gen rolls out.

Also Xbox Live is doing big money to EA no doubt. BF3 Premium, Fifa Ultimate...

Just gonna shamelessly rip a comment from reddit as to why EA made more revenue on PC than it did on PS3:

"Just one note on the PC/PS3 comparison. While it does appear that the PC earned more revenue for EA than the PS3 it is surely because EA gets a far bigger cut of the sale when selling the game via Origin than out of a big box retailer. It could still be that the PS3 is the larger market, but that game sales on PC are the larger revenue generator (which is really what's important)"

This reddit post is a terrible argument. EA cares about profits. If the PS3 isn't pulling in as much revenue per sale as the PC, and the PC is giving them overall stronger revenue, then the PC market is simply the better market for them.
