I'm expecting a loss overall. Not going to be profitable when the other two weren't especially considering R&D. On top of that is the yen situation where Sony's forecast relied heavily on a trade of at least 10% higher against both Euro and Dollar.

Expect a loss, probably in the low hundred millions. Maybe 119M loss? Randumb number.

Usually there is an earnings preview by Reuters or Bloomberg or English Nikkei the day before major releases from Sony but dont see any from the three sites (even though i need to renew my e.nikkei subscritpion).

Other major companies in Japan that mirror Sony are coming in with mix results.
Panasonic had a profit due to cost cutting, Hitachi profited also
Toshiba had a loss due to restructuring and Sharp hasn't reported yet.

Tagging, expecting a loss still due to their currency predictions which were just off too much.

I am going to be optimistic and predict a very small profit. 50-200Million

Not really sure, Q1/2 had losses of $150m and $350m respectivley. Then Q3 and Full year had huge losses dues to SLCD sale/ Sony Ericcson merger in Q3 and Deffered Taxes of liek $5 billion in Q4. The sale of SLCD was reported to save them 1 billion dollars a year, and with all other companys music, pictures profitable every year. I expect them to have a slight profit or a slight loss this quarter and it will grow quarter by quarter, due to cost cutting.

Don't forget about the Thailand flood and Japan quake/tsunami.
