Am I the only one who thinks that 431k copies sold in 2 days is an amazing number? co

No, I think it's amazing as well! I don't see why ppl are complaining about 430k in TWO days!! What gives??

Because this is Mario we are talking about and a 2D one at that. Good sales, but certainly not great for a 2D Mario title (compare to the DS one and Wii one)

How much did NSMB do on the DS in it's first week - and more importantly, in it's first two days...? Wasn't it something along the lines of 480k? If so, it's not that bad at all.

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

I think it's because of two things

1 - Compared to the previous Marios it felt a little short (maybe).

2 - The hardware did so great, that people expected more from the game.

[NDS] New Super Mario Bros. - First day sales (480,000) - First week (865,024).

[Wii] New Super Mario Bros. Wii - First day sales (420,000) - First week (936,734).

First week = 4 days.NSMB 2 First Week = 2 days

Like I said, I falls a little short. Digital sales might help these numbers, by a little or even a lot, though

at first i thought the NSMB2 numbers were bad but then i remembered the DD part so i wonder how much it did in online sales. 300k maybe?

good XL sales though

300K seems a little high.

Yea, I'd expect 10%-15% of the retail sales total at best. So 40k-65k

Leatherhat on July 6th, 2012 3pm. Vita sales:"3 mil for COD 2 mil for AC. Maybe more. "  thehusbo on July 6th, 2012 5pm. Vita sales:"5 mil for COD 2.2 mil for AC."

Even though this is my default number too for all other games, I'm willing to bet that in this case it's higher. Why? Because it was actually promoted and because it's the first, and only so far.

True. In essence it probably should be a little higher. But I'd imagine lifetime that percentage will remain about the same. First week & first game though, a lot of people will try digital downloads just to see if its true, convenient, and functional.

Anything past 100k would be mind-blowing to me.

Can Mario 2nd week be bigger than the first? Hmm, unlikely, but yeah, I say there's a good shot for that! Would be epic!

Damn! I must have misunderstood it then... Yeah, that really is unimpressive! But I'm not all that surprised: I never thought that NSMB2 would sell as well as the original - but only half?? But it's like y'all say; gotta wait for the DD numbers. Thanks for the clarification!

Calm down. It's half in half the days + Downloads

Even if it gets a litte short, it's not bad by any means. The others had spetacular launches (being first of all helps (NSMB) and  the Wii game was released in the busiest week of the Holidays).

What really counts for those games are legs.
