I think the WiiU prediction is a bit out-there (it may reach 3.5mil FY, but the Vita should beat that...). However, the 3DS prediction sounds plausible, if we count the holidays as October 31st to December 31st. That'd mean, on average, 1mil a week. It should do that easily most December weeks, and more (may break 1.5mil some weeks, especially if MH4 is released then), and also Black Friday...

I'd say anywhere from 7-10mil for the 3DS, but I need to see how the 3DS XL does in the long-term first.

WiiU won't sell more than 4m this year - and even that'll be hard to achieve!! The Vita will surely have sold 5m copies åt the end of the year - perhaps even 6m LTD, but no more than that. The 3DS will easily hit 6m, perhaps even 8 - so I'll go a head and predict 7-7.5m sold 3DS' this holiday.

Yeah, I realised that after posting, but still, it should hit 1.5mil at least 1 week...

i sense a lot of over confidence in the wii U. remember the crazy 3DS launch predictions? yeah...

3Ds prediction seem to high to me but i guess i don't think the XL will do to the 3DS what the lite did to the DS. at least that one is somewhat plausible.

I'm assuming this means from ... ~November 20th to January first?

I also assume this is a complete worldwide launch, so I can see 2.2m in this timeframe. From Nov. 20th to March I can see 4.5m.

Comparing the 3DS launch to WiiU's is highly inaccurate:

3DS launched in Feb/March; WiiU will be launching during the holidays...

The 3DS was pricey for a handheld; there's an overwhelming chance that WiiU won't be pricey for a new home console...

The 3DS launch games were laughable regarding system selling appeal compared to what we've seen for WiiU; Nintendoland alone is stronger in this regard than the entire 3DS launch library combined, to say nothing of other games that could make it by the end of the year (particularly Mario)...
