Four Discounted Mario Titles In The Nintendo eShop

Nintendo of America has declared the four weeks preceding the August 19th launch of New Super Mario Bros. 2 as the Month of Mario. To celebrate the launch of this new game, which is playable on the Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo 3DS XL, Nintendo is making one Mario game per week available at a discount in the Nintendo eShop. Fans who can’t wait to get their thumbs on New Super Mario Bros. 2 will have four classic Mario adventures to enjoy before launch day.

Each classic Mario game will enjoy a one-week run at a discounted price. The games, prices and dates of each discount are as follows:

July 26 - Aug. 1 Super Mario Bros. $3.99
Aug. 2 – Aug. 8 Super Mario Land $2.99
Aug. 9 – Aug. 15 Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins $2.99
Aug. 16 – Aug. 22 Mario’s Picross $2.99

Glad to see the sales are going to continue. Less glad to see that they're all on titles I already own...and only $1 off each.

I was hoping this was a good sign of Nintendo learning from Valve (Steam Sales) but since they're doing it as a special promotion for the month leading up to the release of NSMB 2, I think this is a very special sale case.

They are doing eShop Sales. Maybe not annual one's but they will be doing them.

Such a pity for me, I had to buy two of them for full price, well it's not like it was that much either, although I did not buy picross, I will hae to hope this promotion is going to be availible in Europe. At least I got SMB for free.
