Mine might even become a netflix player in the living room, and our lass will prob use it for zumba and wii fit

I use mine more as a Netflix player now than gaming on it since I've gotten the 3DS.  However, I still have a ton of VC / WW games on it that I have barely played or haven't even played (along with 5-7 Wii games).  So there is still a lot of gaming potentional left for me.  Main thing I am hoping for right now is that we better be able to transfer all the games (Club Nintendo account) we downloaded on the Wii to the Wii U.  It wouldn't make sense if it was done any other way.

I may be wrong Seth, but I'm pretty sure Nintendo has said you will be able to transfer your vc games across to wiiu :) here Seth http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2012/06/you_can_transfer_wii_vc_games_to_wii_u

Yea there was a rumor that 3DS + Wii U accounts would be linked (through your Club Nintendo account I assume) but I believe that might have been squashed by an official rep as not official.  Not too sure but I believe a Wii - Wii U transfer should be allowed.  I assume people can transfer their DSi WW games to the 3DS?  I don't know considering I never owned the DSi.

Ninpie buddy, I clearly said it's been collecting dust already, so what will happen when WiiU releases should be clear, it,s basic 2+2 friend.

At Ninpie & Carl: I didn't buy the Wii at launch, so I bought a load of games when I got it, the only one Wii game I enjoyed slightly was DKCR, and that was also dissapointing due to control system. I suspect I will enjoy the WiiU a lot more.

It was just a surprise to see such a comment from you.

I really only played Super Smash Brothers Brawl, Super Mario Galaxy 1/2, Twilight Princess, Skyward Sword, Metroid Prime 3, Mario Kart Wii and some New Super Mario Bros. Wii. Oh, and some Wii Sports... Other than that, Xbox 360 was my main console of this gen. I won't sell my Wii though as it has the ability of playing my glorious Gamecube collection. My first Gamecube broke down and you never know when it might happen to my second one as well.

That's not too many games...

I'll probably play my Wii games on my Wii so minimize the wear and tear on my Wii U.

As for games, I'll keep playing Monster Hunter Tri as long as the servers are up, and I'm sure I'll still feel the need to play games like Mario Galaxy 1 & 2 and Donkey Kong Country Returns for man years.

It all entirely depends on Nintendo should they allow Gamecube games playable on Wii U. At this point in time, my family and I still enjoy the console greatly.

GameCube games can't be playable on the Wii U, it doesn't have any GameCube controller ports. However, GameCube games will probably be available on the shop.

Which is why I wrote "only" :P I know that I'm missing out on games like DK Country Returns but I never played its prequels and feared that I may not enjoy it. That happened when I recently tried out DK 64 for the first time - it just wasn't enjoyable for some reason. (although I know that's a different series)

I didn't get DKCR either. I wish I did though... it looks great!

I still have a huge backlog on the Wii. I'll still be playing that console in 5 years (same goes for 360).
