idk because with the shift the moon will spin around and could cause some really bad storms. We dont know wtf completely happened 1000 years ago. There are scientists that beeive that the super volcanos havent exploded because of the moon's gravity pull. |
Well, it's really hard to say and predict, but I doubt this is gonna affect us hardly. Maybe we'll just need to buy new compasses! |
You do realise that a lot of things rely upon the magnetic poles. Aircraft/ships/satilites would all be out of action until we get things sorted.
Additionally, any significant flucuation in the magenetic poles would disrupt power generation and also knock out any electromagnetic communications. So no TV, radio, internet, etc...
There is also evidence that magnetic flucuations can disorentate animals and kill insects.
While I don't think that geomagenetic reversal would be the end of humanity, it definitely would set us back a bit in progresses. I also severly doubt the next one will be in 2012, and will most likely not occur within our current lifetimes, so no one here has to worry about it :P
