i agree except for mario and Tomb Raider just because Lara is hot.

From the guy's description of Mario (and how he lists GTA and Ratchet as getting better), it seems to me like he has barely touched a Mario game in his life, and mostly plays other platforms. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but he shouldn't be claiming Nintendo games are shit just for using the same characters.

It's pretty damn comical to claim Super Mario is doing something awful with 3 games in 11 years, while there's nothing wrong with Ratchet releasing 6 games in 5 years. Again, I've nothing against Ratchet, but I do object against double standards.

If people still buy those games, then games need to stay.

BUT i agree, for some titles BETTER QUALITY would do a lot, then just MILKING money from the franchise.

 But Mario Party has Mario in the title! They must be the same game!

i kinda agree with mario and that is what nintendo is doing for its main "game", smg is the only main story mario game that is gonna be released for a long time. But there are so many games with mario in it...like mario strikers and wasn't there a mario bball game o.o

Maybe create a new nintendo character, like a soccer character or bball character with some story, not just throw mario in there. Even tho they do sell like mario kart and smash bros but no need to include mario in everything x.x

Actually, guys, he doesn't even say that Mario games are bad. In fact, he implicitly admits many of them are very good: "We wouldn't ask Disney to euthanize Mickey Mouse, and Mario doesn't need to disappear either."

His problem is entirely with the fact that there are so many Mario games. He just wants new Nintendo characters. My guess is that he'd be completely fine with Super Mario Kart and Super Smash Brothers if they happened to feature other characters. It isn't that Mario games are bad, it's just that he's personally tired of seeing Mario, whether his games are good or not.

I'm not saying that's a fair argument, I'm just saying that's what he's saying.  

I agree with most games, biggest exception being Mario. WTF they were talking about Tony Hawk, that series was DOA, as in terms of good game.
And i would add to the list EA:s sports series (such as NHL, FIFA, Madden, F1 etc) and Sims. Which by the way is a mystery why those milked and rehashed series never get mentioned when someone complains about the franchises that needs to die, no, they complain that 3 Mario platformers in a decade is too much.

And the list that mentioned 7 franchises that gets better, the was GTA? Sheesh, that series have been crap since the first sequel.

But, they were just that persons opinions and everyone just can't like the same games.

Yea like Bod said I think they are just asking for less Mario spinoffs which may be a fair assessment considering we get Mario playing every sport other than football, Kart, Brawl, and the traditional platformers. Still if all of those are million sellers and generating profit why lose em?

i definitely agree on Manhunt. I was kinda excited for Manhunt 2 partially due to the controversy surrounding it but it was horrible. So glad I rented that first.

He isn't saying mario should go away. He is saying he should stick to the core game. Mario appears in any way nintendo can possibly cram him into a game these days. Same with Sega and Sonic. Less of it guys.

Off the top of my head so far for the wii mario has: Mario strikers charged, mario party (8?), Super Mario Galaxy, Super Paper Mario, Mario and Sonic at the olympics and will be in Super smash bros. No doubt a mario tennis game is coming and Super Mario Kart and some sort of mario baseball game. No doubt I have missed some.

He just likes it when nintendo create a new IP instead of keeping throwing Mario in everything. Now how many of you would rather have another mario game instead of a new IP? 

I agree with their comments on Mario. Nini could at least do us all a favor and have 1 game with mario in it a year thats all.
