Deus ex was $7.5, Revelation costs $13 etc. Notice the daily deals and flash sales |
Star Wars collection is $49.99. Thats sickening.
| Michael-5 said: Wait a sec, I'm looking at these Steam Sales and they aren't all that crazy. Assassin's Creed Brotherhood and Revelation now cost $18, I bought both my copies for $30 last christmas, paid only $10 for Brotherhood. Deus Ex is $18 at EB games, and the same on Steam (but you save on the DLC). Fallout NV: GOTY Ed is $30 at Best Buy, and only recently $24 on Steam. I think this game will drop to $20 soon as well.
It's the old titles that are cheap on Steam, EB games and such don't normally sell games for under $10 unless it's a bizarre promotion, but on Steam.... Anyway, Steam is awesome. |
I gifted TWO people Shogun Total War 2 for a grand total of $15 several days ago, and bought myself the first expansion for $2.49. One of the hands down best games released last year for that cheap? Beat that.
Many of Steam's best prices are part of one day sales. Like when I bought Deus Ex for like $0.99. You can't not buy at those prices.
I'm also considering moving over to Steam for the majority of my gaming. I just can't justify spending 60 bucks on a video game. After browsing the store and noticing how cheap some of the games are, many of which are high end and high quality, Steam is starting to win me over. Just bought Terreria for $5 and loving it so far. It's pretty awesome that I can get Mass Effect, Borderlands, and AC: Revelations for less than 30 bucks combined.. Love the fact that they have all these sweet deals for 50-75% off, which is pretty handy for a poor college student like myself, who is going to be spending the next decade paying back student loans and currently works for 9 bucks an hour.

I personally think it's because most publishers make their money back at full price console sales. These Steam sales are just extra on top. A quick few millions in their pockets. I don't think they'd publishers will be able to make money if Sony and Microsoft had these crazy sales. |
Thats the truth, but it still doesn't make it fair. Console gamers pay too much for PC gamers alone to enjoy the spoils when the publishers know full well the bulk of money is not coming from the PC crowd. Now with Steam i'll pay shit for the best multiplats and PC exclusives.
I bought a full computer (Mobo, GPU and other required HW) just for Starcraft 2. So good for you.

I agree too but it is the console exclusive titles which keep me from getting a gaming pc. You will never get the likes of The last of us or beyond: two souls on pc.

True, hence why It's PS4/PC for me exclusively next gen.

What about the exclusives on the other platforms? And what does the steam sale have to do with overlooking those?
