Forums - Sony - PS3 Super Slim exists, and here it is! Update2: Comparison PS3 vs PS3 Slim vs PS3 Super Slim

best to just wait until gamescom and get a better look. from these pics, it looks like crap but it may not even be the final version. also do some of you really think theres gonna be a $150 ps3 this year?? i thought sony were on their knees.

I'm not sure if the 16GB version is real. Could be a typo. I think it's a 160GB HD.

Op, where is the link? Surely there must an article or some text associated with this. This source of this isn't just a collection of images, is it?

Well at first I wasn't overly convinced, but after seeing the comparison shots on the front page, I'm thinking this could definitely replace my broken fat PS3 for this one (I actually really like the image Sal posted). I'm looking at the 16GB model, just to replace it with my current 500GB hard drive ;)

Now I just have to hope its £100 and it'll be perfect :P

16GB, way smaller and tacky as Hell.

It will be dirt cheap to make and they'd probably be breaking even at $150. $200/$250 would make a whole lot of money.

Well for a Top loading drive, the slider idea is certainly unique. Pics look OK, need to see it property really.

Yeah, but the public may react to this drastic outside change by running out and buying the current model before the only thing on the shelf is this new ugly revision. :)

nah, the forums just overreact here - it's not worse looking than the current model and once it's confirmed a slider the ripped stuff makes very much sense as it's better grip and you wont see fingerprints on that

Wouldn't a matte finish like on the current model on the middle parts look so much better than that weird ps2 style thing? It'd be easy to grip for sliding and there's no worries about finger prints. If it wasn't ideal for sliding then it doesn't need to slide, it could have a lid that pops open like the PS2 slim had. Still nothing motorized to keep costs low, and it works just as well or better. Looks better as well imo.

Aesthetically this is such a poor design, it could be so much nicer just with a few changes.

What the hell is the meaning of releasing this product now?

I would guess to compete with the Wii U. Get it as cheap as possible to make (this model looks cheaper than the original slim), get the price down, a new model also warrants a relaunching of some kind like the first slim did... should boost sales quite a bit and take away attention from the Wii U. I think it's a good idea.

Why does it get uglier with every iteration? Love my shiny fat ps3.

The first slim version wasn't so ugly. This one is hideous.

Anyway, with a price cut this could be a good move to steal some attention from WiiU.
