DS sold 300k in Jun 2011 in a year the 3DS got released. 150k is very low for the US market no doubt about that.

Btw, to me it's no mystery that this is the worst June ever. The 7th gen (Wii/360/PS3) sales LTD numbers are unprecedented. To have 3 consoles sell 20 mil+, 2 consoles on the verge of 40 mil+ is nothing short of outstanding... So market saturation is definitely there. Most people are probably replacing their broken/old consoles now. Seriously the Wii U can't come soon enough!
As for the 3DS/PSV, well the iPhone is the new portable necessity. That said, DS numbers prove that handhelds are still legitimate, but they need games. 3DS has NSMB 2 coming up which should reignite it, and with a run of games before the holidays, things should turn out interesting

You mean 2005? June 2006 should be identical to what August 2012 is for the 3DS, which is redefining. That said, a lot of big games were releasing for the DS right befoer the DS Lite, not really the case for 3DS. Well we have to wait and see. 3DS XL is not totally a redesign, but shouls still boost the 3DS!
