Well then what is the point of NPD? I know it's a sales company but why is it so big? Why does it matter more than Media Create or something?

Because America is bigger than Japan by a considerable margin.

It's simply to highlight which predictions were the closest from NPD. It shows that VGC is the most accurate this month.

And NPD is big because we always get a slew of official sales numbers and there's nothing more fun than 100% accurate data!
