Forums - Gaming - Tekken Tag Tournament 2 and Dead or ALive 5 come out in the same month. Which one are you getting? Anybody getting both?

Jesus... You guys, a single, TAG mode is not worth 60 bucks when you already own, and is disappointed with Tekken 6.. It has tons of issues, and I mean the actual fighting portion of the game.. Not the Tekken force rip-off which is also bad. Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection was the better game.

Speak for yourself Susan.

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Xbox One: What are you doing Dave?

Both.

Based on the most recent version of each game though (Dead or Alive: Dimensions & Tekken 6) i'm looking forward to DOA5 more.

Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown will tide me over nicely until they release though.

Speaking of fighters............. Capcom is releasing Jojo's Bizarre Adventure HD for XBLA (and PSN too i suspect).

Who saw that coming? (Loved it on my SEGA Dreamcast back in the day)

First off--

1.  Tag mode is a significant change.  I really don't know how else to put it.  It's the difference between a WWII shooter and a modern shooter.  They're both shooters but completely different feels.  That's like saying if I own the most current Call of Duty I might as well not get Bioshock or I'm not going to play Mass Effect because I played Dragon Age or I won't play Torchlight 2 because I played Diablo III.  Also, how different do you think Marvel vs Capcom 3 would be if you could only play a single character?

2.  I don't own Tekken 6...so...

3.  Tekken Tag 2 has more characters and characters are everything.

Dude, I don't even like marvel vs. capcom 3. So playing with one character would be a draw-in... The only thing I like about that game is the pace of speed.

Also... Tekken is Tekken. Call of Duty is not Bioshock.

You cannot Tell me that TTT2 doesn't use most of it's assets from Tekken 6. They're built using the same engine, aren't they? All the attacks, etc, they're being reused from Tekken 6, Some, even from Dark Resurrection, because they overhauled most of the animations from Tekken 5 to Dark Resurrection. When Tekken 6 came about, all the characters were updated...

You think they're going to overhaul the attacks again for TTT2? No.... Not that it's needed, but, the point is, a couple things existing characters had changed that could have been fixed in a balance patch isn't good enough.

Tag mode isn't worth 60 dollars. The game even looks less appealing with the 1V2, 1V1 modes. It's not fair that someone can learn just one character, and never have to think about using another, unless playing online... And, when that happens, (s)he can have someone else play on the team, and be that much better off, because two people are going to react to things differently, and adjusting to that can be a lot of work.

Knowing what tactics one will fall for, that the other one wont... The best way to get around that if you're playing on your own skill level is simply to have another person helping you, so that you're keeping things varied.

But, I don't know if I've said this already, or not, but, I'm planning on cancellinginging my DoA5 five reserve and moving it back to TTT2.

Wait... So, you don't even own Tekken 6...  you don't have the issue of buying the same content twice..

Are you sure?

Namco has the license right now, and is making a new Jojo's figther exclusive to PS3.  Capcom never owned the series.

What no one is buying the same content twice. Tag 2 has so far a lot more characters completely new stages new items and a whole lot of new outfits for your characters. Over 50 new cg endings and the tag mode will change gameplay a lot. Plus the characters from tekken 6 all have updated move lists. They have said they've modified the characters move lists and their are videos that demonstrate that.

New stages, but, existing characters are returning from Tekken 6... I can't say the same for DoA5, other than the 3 virtua fighter characters, because I haven't play a DoA game before...

I guess I may end up getting both games, since Tekken is showing to fix everything that was wrong with it... Except the rage mode, but... meh...
As for DoA... It has Virtua Fighter characters, so I wont feel completely alienated... Eventhough VF5: Final Showdown is my first VF since VF1 on Saturn.. I like Virtua Fighter Final Showdown a lot... more-so than Tekken 6... I dunno... Maybe I'll get both... my mind isn't made up yet..

If I had to choose one I would choose Tekken.

Probably neither cause I don't rly care for fighting games (other than ssb). But if I ever buy 1, I will Tekken and I will buy it on the Wii U (there is a extra mode on the Wii U version already confirmed and it's ''Mushroom mode'', we saw footages of that mode on the 3rd party trailer when a mushroom transforms someone into a giant, Harada said it will be alot of fun, personnally I doubt I will care for that mode but I'd rather have it than not :P)

I never could take DoA srsly. Will never care or take srsly a game that is betting on big boobs on 16year old teenagers figthing in mini-skirt to advertise their games.
