Forums - Sony - Have you bought Rainbow Moon (SRPG)?

Rainbow Moon is a newly released downloadable title exclusive on PSN and I think its official release is tomorrow the 10th of July, but at least for European PS+ members it's been out for a week.

I'm not an expert on strategy RPGs but this seems fairly Japanese in its core design but it's made by a Western studio which shows in the artstyle. It's totally focused on gameplay rather than story. It's deep but introduces you slowly and carefully to all the game mechanics. It's traditional with a heavy focus on grind, at least on the hard difficulty which I am playing.

It's a big game and very addictive.

It costs only around $15 or 12 Euro (right now 15% off for PS+ members). And it's got the Platinum trophy we all want.

Didn't know this existed. It looks nice!

Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,

Is this on the American store?

It's been out in Europe since last week, but the US release is on tomorrow's (7/10) store update. It costs $15, but PS+ members get a discount.

Is this SRPG the type where the monsters increase in level with the characters or is it a grindfest where you can just level up and over power the enemies?

No, but I will tomorrow when it's out here!

I bought it last week with the PS+ discount, well worth the price even without a discount.

Its very slow at first because you only have basic moves, but you do get to unlock quite a bit as the game progresses, things like attack moves, and equipment. I'm 20hrs into the game, main char is lvl 22 and there's a trophy for lvl 500 (999 max) to give you an idea of how long you could be on it.

If your not into grinding I'd suggest giving this a miss because there's plenty of it, also if anyone is going to attempt getting the plat I'd advice buying the dlc for moon coins and such, you'll get it eventually anyway.

Grindfest.

On the hard difficulty the enemies are really really powerful and you have to grind a lot to level up and be able to beat them. I'm loving it.
