They kind of have an opportunity here to get into the next gen earlier and better than MS, especially since there's very little chance of there being new Halo, Gears or Forza games coming out by holidays 2013. But whatever, I'm not a businessman so I don't know what would work best. And besides, this works better for me because it means no new hardware investment to play sequels to games I love! |

1. Bad economy
2. Most developers aren't ready for PS4, nor are they ready for next gen yet.
3. PS3 already has great software tech coming in 2013 with THE LAST OF US, BEYOND 2 SOULS, WATCH DOGS, and GOD OF WAR, and according to HHG, UNCHARTED 4, and INFAMOUS 3. Why do we need a PS4 right now? What for?
4. Online has extended the life of current consoles, and GAIKAI is set to extend it further.
5. Why do you want crappy tech in your PS4? trying to release it soon would render a SUB 2 teraflop GPU, and we'll be sucking wind again doing 720p before 2020. Waiting until at least holiday 2014 would get us much better hardware and we could possibly get something along the lines of An ATI 7950 or 7970, which would move us into the 3 teraflop range, and we could pretty much be assured of 1080p at a probable 50 -60 frames all through 2022.
Why do you want to be saddled with shitty hardware?
No offense but I'm glad you don't make decisions for Sony, because you have some terrible ideas.......Idea's that you don't seem to really comprehend or fully calculate the overall consequences.

I appreciate your in-depth response, but I completely disagree and it all comes down to one thing: the competitors. If holidays 2014, Nintendo will have been on the market for 2 years with the Wii-U and Microsoft could have potentially been on for 1 year with the next Xbox.
Sony can put 5 teraflops, 80 frames per second and 4320p output but the damage would have already been done.
I don't want crappy tech in a PS4, I'm not really bothered about getting a PS4 at all (I'm more than happy with my PS3), but I don't want to see Sony get trounced AGAIN by the competition by releasing late, powerful & expensive into the market. Because as we saw from this generation, multi-platform games aren't designed around releasing on the most powerful machine, and Sony no longer have anywhere near the market share to command them as exclusives.
But anyway, all of this is moot. We don't know when PS4 is releasing - could be 2013, could be 2014. We don't know what platform Uncharted 4 will be on. We don't know if Infamous 3 will even be made. And no matter how much we discuss it, it isn't up to us!

Here's what we do know...
--Sony on several occasions has said they do not want any new Playstation soon.
--Sony just bought GAIKAI, which gives them the tools to extend the PS3's life
--Sony has tons of PS3 Sofware coming in 2013 and more to come
PS4 in 2013 looks bleak......that's what we do know.
inFamous might just be Sony's best new IP this generation, but honestly... I'd rather not see it continued. inFamous 2 ended at the perfect place, making a followup would undoubtedly ruin what made the endings of inFamous 2 so great.
Sucker Punch is a really amazing team, they've yet to make anything other than superb games, so why not have them make a new IP?
imo this would be dumb on their part as they already have some pretty big games coming in 2013 like the last of us and god of war ( maybe the last guardian )
so i'd say it'd be wiser to allocate those resources to the ps4 if it is indeed real and coming in 2013 - 2014

Well it would be agains't Naughty Dog's history to bring UC to PS4. What ND has done so far, and it's worked every time, is bring a whole new franchise to each new PS platform. So I think if there is a UC4 in development then putting it on PS3 would be consistent with the way ND works. However I think 3 Uncharted's this gen is enough. ND should do TLoU and then put all assets on a kick-arse new franchise for PS4.
What I'd love to see from ND on PS4 is what they can do with an action/platforming RPG, something like Borderlands, but not first person. Or an open world game. Go into territory they've not been in before.

I would think it is the other way arround. I have read some things on his website some time ago, and it looks like this dude likes to post every stupidity that comes to his mind, so I dont trust him at all.
