Don't judge a book by its cover!

Yeah... Software upgrades. Specs = Software, correct? |
No...
Software = programming. That's why it's called "soft"ware - it's not tangible, or "hard".
Specs = hardware. Because they're physical. Hard.

Whenever I was talking about specs I thought of it as Software. Because I thought Hardware was the appearance and display and such.
So yeah, I knew what you were talking about. The only difference between the 'S's' is the innerds.

Hardware is anything that can be touched. That goes as far as a processor or RAM chip. Since specifications are determined 100% by the processors or other semiconductors, they fit as "hardware".
Software is anything that is digital, coding-based.

Yes, I know that now, thank you.
OT: All those Moto phones look the same.
Apple don't inovate any more. They just sue everybody who has overtaken them.
Wii FC: 6440 8298 7583 0720 XBOX GT: WICK1978 PSN: its_the_wick 3DS: 1676-3747-7846 Nintendo Network: its-the-wick
Systems I've owned: Atari 2600, NES, SNES, GBColor, N64, Gamecube, PS2, Xbox, GBAdvance, DSlite, PSP, Wii, Xbox360, PS3, 3DS, PSVita, PS4, 3DS XL, Wii U

I'm not exactly a big apple fan, but the OP has got it totally wrong. The software is where the innovation is found and the hardware gets more powerful with each phone.
The new iPhone is going to change, it will be taller sporting a 4" screen.
Other evolution:

Some of my mobile devices are in that list. Like my first mobile the Nokia 3310, first s40 Nokia 6100, first s60 Nokia 6630, first WM HTC Touch. Lately been thinking on going retro and have a phone that can hold charge more than a day.
Lesson:
You can always improve on imperfection, but you can't innovate beyond perfection

So far.. I never use apple products, cos/maybe I can't afford it, but it doesn't mean I should hate/mocking apple products.
