You can build credit without ever using a credit card. I make all of my purchases using a check card, which is directly tied to my checking account. It works the same as a credit card, but it takes money out of my account the day I make a purchase, and there's never any interest or fees or whatever. Lots of things affect your credit; pretty much anything that you owe money for can help or hurt your credit. I pay my rent on time, I pay my cable and electric bills on time, and I'm current on my student loans. That was enough to get me a good loan for my first car. I pay the car payment on time. I have outstanding credit and no credit cards. I could get a credit card and use it to buy all the games I want, but I have zero income until I graduate this summer. With zero income, I don't have the means to pay off the card. Never a good idea to take on debt without sufficient income.

*my* check card does not give me credit.

My rent does not give me credit.

My power bill does not give me credit.

My water bill does not give me credit.

My insurance payments... dont give me credit.

My grandfather was a doctor, and I get enough money to pay any debts I aquire every year. That and I'm selling something for 4,000$ here next month, and I could use that to pay it off, but I want to keep making my paymets to get me more credit.

Hi I have like 42 Xbox 360 games 14 GC 0 PS3 :)

Wii- 4 games, 10 VC DS- 13 games Unfortunately for Sony and MS, next gen prices are too expensive for me to have all 3 systems + GBA like last time (at least this early, a 360 will probably come eventually when they can get their failure rate under 50% or can improve their customer service).

To call somebody ignorent fool like that is what I call banning materials, stop it or at least I will report that post.

@Kwaad

Never ever pay for things with credit. It always cost more than it would if you payed with cash. If you cant buy something in cash, then you shouldn't buy it. Their is always handlings fees and other things hidden somewhere.

But I must say that if you have problem with you econimical situation, why do you buy a sound system for 600 USD and a Wii for another 250 USD? As far as I know you own a PS2, you should be able to continue to buy some great games during this year to that system. Giving the time to save some money and mayby get your favorit system cheaper. Heck I think I earn a lot more than you and I am looking through preused copies and other places to find old gems for my GameCube. You don't need to do that to keep your PS2 alive, it will be more than alive through 2007, and will probarbly also have a decent life until the middle of 2008.

@Thread

Well so far I haven't bought a next gen system so I wouldn't bought any games either

Probarbly will buy a Wii when the games I want start to arrive in PAL.

Your Mother, I'll start with you first. The store I got my stereo from was the cheapest, besides a few internet places, but I dont like buying expensive/heavy stuff on the internet. You have a problem with it, your screwed. It is the 1 day, out of the year, 24month no intrest. Think. "massive sale."

I will pay it off holiday 2008. (what little would be left)

I would not buy it if I was gonna pay large intrest, or anything else.

Kwaad, it doesn't matter - you are not getting anything for free. The world is not a charity that revolves around you. Face it, this is simple economics, something you will never be able to grasp with your ignorant, foolish mind.

Your Mother - have you ever bought a car? Have you ever watched TV and see the 'no intrest for 3 years' deal? The thing is, they dont expect you to pay it off. It's a scam really. What they do is, you pay 3% every month. If you do not have the load paid off in 24 months they hit you with your past due intrest. At least that's the way my card works with the place I buy everything.

You know, I don't watch local TV, and I don't live in the US. I've bought a few cars before, all in cash. Got a problem with that?

Your Mother - Have you ever heard of a Dream Cast? Have you ever heard of one of the 'must have' games for it called SeaMan? The one that you obviously didnt know what it was? IF you had more than 1000 games in your collection, and you EVER played any of those games. You would have known off the top of your head, without a 2nd thought what that game was. I never owned a DC, I never owned SeaMan. However I did play it for 2 hours, and that is one of the most unique games I've ever played. Basically unless you backup your comment with a photo with YourMother on a peice of paper, with at least 3 walls of games. I know your full of lies.

(1200 DVDs fit about 5 feet high, and 8 feet across. My mother-in-law is a video freak, and has almost every movie on DVD)

Great for you - might as well tell you I've never owned or played a Saturn or Dreamcast (apart from five minutes of Soul Calibur). And I don't have to back up anything for your sorry, pathetic, ignorant and foolish self (you don't back anything up either - why the hell would I make exceptions for you?). You don't like it? You think I lie? Fine. Don't really care. Don't start with your "GO F*CK YOURSELF" routine when I start calling out all the actual lies you throw around.

Your Mother - I also wanna say, you cant get a loan, or anything along those lines without credit. Using that card builds my credit. I dont know if you understand why credit is imporant to someone in the lower class because your obviously in the upper 1% becuase you can afford to buy .8 games a day. I dont know how much you understand about the way the world works, but a good intrest free loan, cant be beaten. You say they markup the price to make the profit? Well then Best Buy, and everyone else that sells it, must mark it up more, and NOT give me a loan, and NOT give me no intrest for 2 years. I'll stick with no intrest for 2 years, and a lower price. You can go with a higher price, and pay in cash tho. That's fine too.

Building up credit... Credit = Debt. Well, I'd rather build up my wealth, thank you. You live in the US. You have credit. Have fun living in debt for the rest of your life while I continue building up my bank account and placing my disposable income (of which you will never have by racking up your credit the way you do) into long-term investments.

See you at the finish line when you're still working to pay off your PS9, 14.3 Surround and 3000p screen, while I've long retired, actually owning the items I buy. Mqybe then I'll let you clean my car, and tip you if you do a good job.

PS3 : 4 (resistance, ridge racer, motorstorm, oblivion) PSN : 2 (blast factor and mortal kombat) PSP : 10 (only paid for 7) PS2 : 8 ( i fell into a rut of only buying madden and playing PC games like WoW) N64 : 3 (traded in on deal to get ps2) PS1 : somehow drawing a big blank but my guess is around 10) SNES : 20ish NES: 40ish

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

Ok, Let's say I could have paid 400$ cash for the sound system. If I was to put it on my credit card, and pay it off within the 2 year intrest free time period. I would pay 400$ over 2 years. Now really because of inflation. That means I just saved about 30$. How is saving money bad?

You know, I don't watch local TV, and I don't live in the US. I've bought a few cars before, all in cash. Got a problem with that?

You dont know how bad things are in the US for the lower class them. If you bought your car today for 1000$, paid nothing today. And then paid it off totally in 2 years for exactly 1000$. How much money did you just loose because of getting it on a intrest free loan?

Great for you - might as well tell you I've never owned or played a Saturn or Dreamcast (apart from five minutes of Soul Calibur). Great for you. Your numbers of 5000 legal games is sounding more and more unlikely. The fact you did not know what SeaMan was basically means you were never a hardcore gamer. And no-one who buys more than 1 game every 2 days is anything but a hardcore gamer.

Your right, build your weath up putting your money in a bank account, and putting your disposable income into long term investments. Like 250,000$ worth of games.

I dont give a damn about any TV over 1080p. I bought my TV to keep for at least 5-10 years. I dont give a damn about 7.1 sound. It's not much better than 5.1 and takes up alot more space. And I dont know if I will still be gaming when I am 50.

Also, I bet in 2 years I will have a nicer car than you... That I would own. (not have a loan on it)
I am looking into building a true mussle car. (A car with around 700hp, and the ability to outrun a dodge viper at the drag strip)

Also, When the PS9 comes out and you have your 20,000 games. Your 1million dollar investment. Yeah... Buy games. Their a investment.

On a serious note. You can afford to buy 200 games a year. Or 10,000$ a year to buy games. But you cant afford to buy a 2000$ TV to use over the next 5 years (at least). That averages out to 400$/year. Or 4% of what you pay for your games yearly. That shouldnt remove too many games from your archive. Only 8 less a year. That means you would still be getting 192games/year. That is still 1 game every 46 hours. It would just be on a beautiful big-screen TV, that will show ALOT more detail than a non-HD TV. And if you were willing to sacrifice 80$/year for the sound system, you could have some AMAZING sounds. It does make a BIG diffrence. That isnt even 2 less games. That would put you down to 190 games a year that you could still buy.

I dont take you seriously. I am enjoying rubbing your face in the dirt, because your giveing me a great chance to do it to someone, and you are opening yourself so I can do it without getting personal.
