Forums - Gaming - Infinity Blade: Epic's Most Profitable Franchise* ~ Even more than Gears of War!

"If we arrive at 'most profitable' by weighing man-years versus revenue."

Which is not an unreasonable way to go about it, but the phrasing implies that it is not more profitable than Gears in absolute terms.

LOL!!!... wait REALLY!?

i have an iPhone and iPad.. i have NO intention of buying these 'hard core games' on any.
im annoyed at this news as its already annoying enough hearing 'ipad is the future of gaming, TV is dead' from Epic as it is.

Noooooooooooo....... curse you people for buying Infinity Blade!! *slaps himself*

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

That's alright Tim, I'll still buy your games on consoles and PC personally, don't worry. <3

Yet more proof that mobile gaming will seriously give console gaming a run for its money... whether you like it or not. Which you probably don't, can't say I'm a fan either.

Sure if you have constantly new ideas to make new IPs this might be a reason to ditch Gears of War and focus on mobil games, but if you rely on currently one mobile IP (Infinity Blade), Gears is still so much more valuable.

I can't imagine infinity blade being all that hard or expensive to make, it's basicly going through the same level over and over. I wouldn't be surprised if angry birds is more profitable then COD

he means if you extrapolate the worktime to gears of war worktime right? becaue i believe infinity blade 1 made 30 million or so revenue. and i would say gears 1 made that in profit.

agreed.  agreed.

i feel like next gen is going to be a massive contraction of the console games industry.  vita is a flop.  3DS is a disappointment.  i think wii U will disappoint too.  i can't imagine MSony will show anything that will light the world on fire.  smartphones/tablets won't take over the industry but they damn sure are going to put a big dent in it.
