Microsoft is promoting its brand new Kinect Central hub this week by giving away a free copy of the XBLA game Haunt (normally 800 MSP or $10 USD) to all Kinect owners in the U.S. You do not need a paid subscription to Xbox Live to claim your free game.

To download your free copy of Haunt:

Make sure you have a Kinect plugged into your Xbox 360.

Log onto Xbox Live.

Navigate to the new "Kinect Central" box on the "Home" tab.

Select "Get Haunt for Free."

You will see a confirmation screen showing the price of the download as Free. Select "Confirm Download" to download Haunt and add it to your collection.

Note: Offer expires on July 2, 2012. If you do not have a Kinect hooked up to your Xbox 360, you will NOT see the Kinect Central box. Instead, you will see an upsell box telling you to purchase a Kinect.

Is maybe the Kinect Central hub US only and that's why only Americans can get the game for free ?

We played the demo a while back and planned on buying it as well as Happy Action Theater. We only got HAT, though. Looks like things worked out for the best on this one. I'll DL it right now!

This makes me wonder why MS isnt doing the free games thing that PS+ offers.

Would virtually solve all Live Gold complaints. Sure your paying for multiplayer....but you get free games per month!

Cmon MS, Sony copied a lot of Live this gen, its time you return the favour :P
