It does actually have some good "spook" moments. :P

Heart was beating very quickly when I knew that the entire enemy team was just around the box xD |
Did you turn unvisible in the end?
Cool battle btw. I didn't know TF had such zergs. I love shooters with level design that makes players join in a united front.

Oh. But why did you escape instead of mowing down everyone?

Yeah. I did a lot of quicksaving during that part.
That was the first thing I thought about when I read the thread title, and there the picture was when I opened it. The tentacle monster in Half-life was extremely nerve racking, especially since I had 13 health left and was sneaking around back and forth figuring out how to get the incinerator to work.
Regenerating health has killed all tension from fps games, and the sheer relief of finally finding a new health station is sorely missed.
Stalker is a close second. One of the missions has you explore a dark underground lab with all kinds of paranormal activity.
I always remember trying to peer around the screen playing doom when I was kid. lol.
So weird to wake up to this thread. It was last night I think it was act 6 chapter 2 in bulletstorm on very hard mode. You walk into a square full of monsters and it took me about 2 and a half hours just about went insane. First time in a long time in a game where I havnt been able to pass something within 2 or 3 deaths
This may seem like a very random choice, but my favorite part (at the time, at least) would be the ending of mission 6 in Halo: CE. Uniting with all those marines and then fighting to get to the tower was an epic experience. There are lots of moments from Metroid Prime 2 (only borrowed the first one once) that are very close though.
A specific multiplayer part would be impossible to choose. There are countless heart beating moments that I've experienced from ranked team slayer (at the top ranks) and infection, among others.

It only lasts for a few seconds, and it doesn't recharge while you're already invincible
