Does anyone know how much the GOTY editions of Fallout 3, New Vegas, and Oblivion boosted total sales?
Anyway I think it has a good shot of reaching 8.5-9.0m

Skyrim was a good game, but it had too many shortcomings for me at least. But I think it could reach 8 million with Dawnguard, or will Dawnguard be something like New Vegas?
betwen 9 and 9.5 i think.
End of 2011 (made 02/01/11)
Wii: 99.453 m
Xbox 360: 67.837 m
Ps 3: 60.726 m
Best Games/Serie of the Generation
It's possible but highly unlikely.
Let's look at it this way: Have any X360 games sold 4 million from week 31 and out?
Halo 3 just failed to do it. It was at roughly 7.7 after 31 weeks (the exact amount is impossible to find, as it wasn't in the top 30 in the weeks around week 31)
GTA:IV is about 700k off, being at 6.3 million after 31 weeks (without a holiday!) and ending at 9.6.
None of the Call of Duties came close (obviously!), and nothing else sold enough (barring Kinect, which is obviously discounted for this).
But the thing is, GTA IV and Halo 3 have had over 4 years to do this, with increasing software sales nearly every year. The X360 is past/passing its prime, and definitely doesn't have 4 more years with healthy software sales. Outlegging Halo 3 is simply impossible for Skyrim under the circumstances.
3 million more - resulting in 9 million overall - is going to be hard too, and I think it'll fall a bit short of that. So in betwen 8.5 million and 9 million.

It could be similar to GTA where a lot of people just run around doing stuff without progressing the story. |
Well even there, you have to play the story to progress to unlock areas of the map. Everything is unlocked in Skyrim

Game of the decade. It deserves those sales and more.

I am not saying it does not. But there where games far better then Skyrim The Witcher 2 was better imo but is not suited for the American Market.

I doubt it, more like the Witcher 2 is unknown to the American market. PC gamers are certainly a minority here which is probably the main reason it is unknown since the 1st was pc only. The next game on my list of games.

with the game of the year edition and the collectors edition getting cheaper in many places I think it really could hit 10mil. Also if next box allows skyrim to be played or if they re-release skyrim with updated graphics or something then it will just propel it further.
