Its not that special. I also call bs on some of the facts in the op.

Its just a very slow pos imo. The Hitman hiring is banned btw. The Silkroad is mostly there to sell drugs. Killing requests will be deleted. You basically buy bitcoins a supposedly untracable currency. Load them on your account. Then you can buy drugs from people for trice the street price. And you give them an rating after they send you something. You can buy other stuff aswell. Thats one of the main "attractions" in the deep web.

Then you have ofcourse porn. The disgusting type. Child Porn and all of the combinations with other fetish things and kids. Appearently there is a youporn like site just with kids (even babies). I have not seen it myself but you can find onion links or better you WILL find them sooner or later by chance. I just never checked it out there are, some things you are better of not seeing. But I am sure its true.

Then there are many nutjob sites, conspiracy theories or religious stuff.

Drug synthesis and other weird shit. Nothing you can't find in a University Library though.

Also hidden wiki is just the portal but there are many links you just get to know from other people or by chance. There is no google. Its frequented because you need to usea tor plugin for firefox and you have several proxies hidding your ip.

You can get in touch with with messed up people easily and buy all illegal things with bitcoins. And find useless or useful information depending on your view point. Thats basically it.

But its slow as hell. Really slow like 28 kbit modem slow. And I doubt that there are any mind blowing things you can find likeimportant government secrets. Its just compared to the "surface" web relatively anonymous. But as far as raw data goes most is accessible on the surface web like pirated common media. Deep web is just the dark site of the Internet now. I was curious about all the hype but its a lot like Internet in the 90s was.

If you look for snuff torture rape child pornography drugs weapons and nonsense check it out. It can be entertaining for a while to browse it. But its pretty useless unless you are really interested in the things I listed earlier.

Most of the really bad shit, the worst stuff is not possible to see unless you know the right people, who trust you. A lot of what you find on the hidden wiki, while fucked up, doesn't even scratch the surface of hidden information on the internet. Think about it, why would a hitman or a non-retarded sexual predator post on a website that I, a 16 year old kid can access after a download or 2? It's not that simple.

There are some sick things, child porn and gore and the like. Wouldn't recommend if you're, you know, a person with a moral compass. Also not as exciting as the OP makes it sound, just a bit tedious/depressing really. 

I've been, was browsing around a 4-chan like site...and saw porn I really, REALLY never want to see again, so I deleted my browsing client and haven't returned since. yeah, horrible, Never again.

I have no interest in drugs or government files or anything.
