He is right Nintendo fans are weird. Nintendo had a decent press conference and showed a lo things Nintendo fans care about. But you have to understand, they can´t show new IP´s when they are not developing ones. Altough it was a stupid move not to reveal the Wii U specs at least. Bu maybe they are no confident enough with this product.

I think they are developing some new ip's

IP singular not plural

Its about damn time if its true, I just hope it wont be a platformer. Nintendo need a real RPG or a good Third Person Shooter.

Nintendo has plenty of RPG franchises. I'd love to see a Nintendo take on the typical third-person shooter, though.

I don't think specs are the problem honestly. The WiiU is clearly capable of games like TLoU and Beyond, it is more powerful than a PS3.

Question is, where were those games to show the gamer crowd at large? Nowhere.

I'm not sure about that. It seems to be as powerful as the PS360. Assassin's Creed 3 and Arkham City don't look any better honestly.

"Nintendo need a real RPG or a good Third Person Shooter."

I dont know what you mean by real, but Nintendo already has created or published some Rpgs this gen, all of them high quality and "real".
The market is already saturated with FPS, we dont need more...maybe as a publisher...

I think it's pretty unlikely that Miyamoto is working on a third-person shooter. I simply cannot imagine something like this.
Chances are it's gonna be another platform or adventure game or something. Then it'll be kinda forgotten and remembered every once in a while, like Pikmin.

Sorry if I wasn't clear, we were talking about new IPs.

Also, you don't determine the power of a system by the visual display of lazy ports, sorry. (Il va sans dire) By lazy, I mean in the graphics department, not in the gameplay department.

No, the market needs FPS' created by Nintendo and its studios like Retro. Such games are good and are needed in the industry, especially needed for Nintendo to bring out its mission.

With all due respect, an RPG is an RPG. If you're speaking of an RPG that follows predominately western design principles, then I'd like to see what Nintendo could do in that space. Otherwise, be happy with Xenoblade. It's more of a "real" RPG than most games considered to be "real" RPGs.

Those are both ports of games that already look stellar on the current consoles... and ports that were very easily up and running on WiiU very quickly to boot, according to devs.

To put it in perspective, look at the difference between launch games on the 360 (such as Perfect Dark Zero) and Gears of War just a year later.  It's practically night and day.  Based on the rumored specs (R700 GPU, 1.5 gigs of RAM) and the confirmed CPU (POWER7) WiiU is certainly more powerful than the current HD consoles.

Well, he has expressed interest in creating an FPS, so it's certainly possible.
