Forums - Nintendo - So Nikkei was right about the 3DS, what about the WiiU now?

They reported that 3DS would get a bigger version in the summer, and that WiiU will cost 30,000 yen in Japan.

So WiiU price

$299 America

£249 UK

€299 Europe

Confirmed?

Around the Network

Probably. It's what I've expected for a while now, and it's the price point that feels right. They've repeatedly indicated that it will cost more than the Wii's launch price of $249, but anything over $299 would be ridiculous.

I think you're there, but I believe we'll see a $269/£229 WiiU, even if it's just a one-time launch offer from some retailers.

Maybe lower. The 3DS' RRP over in the UK was £239.99, yet I got it at launch, with a game, for £200.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Probably. It's the most reasonable price from all the ones that have been rumored.

Please excuse my bad English.

Former gaming PC: i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Current gaming PC: R5-7600, 32GB RAM 6000MT/s (CL30) and a RX 9060XT 16GB

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

Out of all the rumors we have been hearing, it is the most plausible rumor and lines up with a lot of the things Nintendo has said about the Wii U regarding its price in the past and as of e3.

Yes.

Nintendo Network ID: Cheebee   3DS Code: 2320 - 6113 - 9046

Like others have said, it certainly isn't that out there.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

i think it's spot on. 300 bucks

Been away for a bit, but sneaking back in.

Gaming on: PS4, PC, 3DS. Got a Switch! Mainly to play Smash

300 is the price, but with NintendoLand bundled?

Yep that's max price.

That's why I left it in my comparison thread all this time.

I see it packaged:
$249 to $269
1 WiiU
1 gamepad
1 wiimote+/nunchuk
1 basic AV connector
1 sensor bar
1 nintendoland

Maybe a $299 bundle with pro controller (no wiimote) and ZombieU or other "core" game like COD:BLOPS2 (no NintendoLand).

I also think we'll see price drops on older controllers considering their price to manufacture is very low now.
Wiimote+ to $25
Nunchuck to $10
Classic Controller Pro $15 - remove original CC.
and
Wireless Pro will be $50
Gamepad will be $70 to $80
